I saw it this afternoon...even at the local “news” level, Hussein worshippers will say the public only has a 20% approval of the Congress—which is worse than Hussein.

The media, always eager to be on their knees to service Hussein, continue to find new and more perverted ways to prop up their little Kenyan god.

There is a 10 point spread between approve and disapprove among adults. It will be worse among likely voters.

Another way to look at it is that there was a post on FR a few weeks ago that said that 48% of the country are government employees or receiving government money. So this means that 16% of people who receive government money want Obama gone, even though his departure will probably hurt them in the short run. He can't even buy sufficient support any more. It is like when the people in the old western look at the villain and say "Your money's no good in these parts any more".

Congress ALWAYS has low approval ratings, this is nothing new. 21% approval for Congress is actually an IMPROVEMENT over Pelosi's Congress which once hit 9% as I recall. So their citing Congress's numbers is irrelevent esp. when you consider that generic Congressional balloting shows Republicans beating Democrats for 2012.

So here we are almost 2 1/2 years into his presidency. We’re still in Iraq, still in Afghanistan. The economy is still in the Dumpster. U.S. credit has been downgraded. We’ve got a half-baked health care reform law that is being challenged. The middle class is still getting crushed.
Why has Obama not lived up to the promise? He is clearly intelligent. For some reason, though, he was not ready for the rough and tumble of national politics.

There's one problem with this analysis. When you ask these same people if they approve of their own Congressman, the number goes up to around 54%. These people don't vote to re-elect all of Congress, just their own Congressscritter so that's the only question that counts. They do however all vote to elect the President.
