The zombies are being slowly thinned out. Look at the fall of the Global Warming hoax and the sudden enthusiasm of soccer moms for breaking up the teachers unions. Suddenly many university students are becoming less concerned with saving the planet, or building a better society, and more concerned with getting a job when they get out of school. The same economic conditions 32 years ago turned the Hippies into the Yuppies and gave Ronald Reagen a 49 state sweep in 1984.

The remaining 20% hardcore are largely SEIU union thugs, big university professors, professional politicians and patronage systems recipients. Their entire livelihood and status in society is dependent on big government handouts. They are digging in for the last ditch defense of the socialist order. They will not go easy.

Many did, note how Obama underperformed among seniors, a traditionally Democrat friendly group. The 35 year old Reagan Democrats who lost is job in 1978 is a 70 year old man today. Obama's base of support is the < 30 crowd. They don't know Jimmy Carter as anything other than a bumbling old man who says dumb things. They don't teach about the Iran Hostage crisis in schools. The < 30s didn't understand just how bad it can get when you have an naive idiot who wants to change the world in the White House. Well now they do. And all but the most committed crazies are going to start to feel the pull of self interest.
