The pro-Sarah Palin documentary, The Undefeated, suffered another huge drop in ticket sales over the weekend, earning just over $5,000.
Last weekend, the distributor pared things down and ran the film in only four theatres, which should have raised its per theatre average, even while reducing ticket sales.
Well, overall ticket sales did, indeed, fall, but so did sales/theatre, which were just $1,300 last weekend -- its worst performance since opening.

This was predicted by a number of FR members. However, while it would have been nice to have better numbers, the DVD and online releases coming in six to eight weeks will enable many more to see it.
this is ok.. cd sales are in demand... conservatives don’t have to go to theaters to get their agenda.... most media promos suck anyway..
Did anyone not already a Sarah supporter see it?
Will anyone not already a Sarah support buy it/pay for it on pay-per-view?
I have to think not.
Oh wow, this and Amy Winehouse are the biggest shocks of the year..
No, this is part of a brilliant strategy!
Taking the country by storm! With a brilliant strategy!
And timing! It’s brilliant and timing and strategic. By storm!
Millions!
Wait, what?
I can’t wait to see what you have to say in September. You’re such a bitter jerk.
Am definately a Palin supporter, but why on God’s green earth would I want to pay a dime and sit through a 90 minute campaign ad??
This movie thing was NOT a smart move!
Care to admit it or not, he was right.
It doesn’t help that Sarah has been off the radar for several weeks, except for tweets and a facebook post. Once she announces, the interest will spike again.
This “out of sight, out of mind” truth should be a reminder that if her mission is only to be a “kingmaker”, or glorified cheerleader, she will be quickly forgotten. When and if she ends her potential candidacy, and the elitist power base no longer feels threatened, they’ll turn their attention to others. Mind you, I believe 100% that she is our nominee-in-waiting. Bob
This was a definite PR misstep.
I was a box office flop Jim.
I see it as this way, how many FR people went to see any of Michael Moore’s films? There is no reason for me to see the Palin film, if she runs I’ll support her. I don’t need a documentary to juice me up. Do you really think the people who went to Moore’s films will line up to see Palin’s? I highly doubt it. If they were lined up around the block on B’way and 42nd to see her I would be impressed.
The movie was shown in North chalreston, not really a big repubican area instead Mt Pleasant. predomimately conservative area.
this movie would be interesting if sarah were running.
if not then not.
she put the cart before the horse.
So YOU can become a more effective supporter. You’ll be able to flick off her opponents like mosquitoes. Knowledge is power! This is Bannon’s baby, and this film will remain viable through the 2012 race if she’s the nominee, and forever if she becomes “Madame President”!
I concur.
The only way it makes sense is if you air it to people who are undecided, for free.
That resounding applause to your clever quips that you hear will go away once you step out of the shower...They're called echo.
Probably a good thing, IMO. With the debt debacle going on two weeks, campaign issues have been pushed to the back pages with the exception of Bachmann and speculation on a Perry run. Romney, who the polls continue to show in first place in spite of his "take cover" actions recently, has stood up in his foxhole to denounce the new agreement, apparently hoping that will get him some favorable tweets from tea party members. Dream on Mitt.
Point us to the movie about your chosen candidate so we can all go see it ... what’s that? There is no such film?
“I was a box office flop Jim.”
Do you mean that Sarah’s movie was a box office flop? I, for one, would’ve gone, but the closest theater where it played was four hours away. It wasn’t played in many venues. (I won’t go more than a half-hour to see ANY movie.)
Besides, most people who’ll vote for her don’t need to see a movie to convince them. People who suffer from PDS wouldn’t go on a bet. Perhaps some undecided voters saw it and learned something.
Nope. You can’t expect a political documentary to be a blockbuster, ain’t gonna happen. It’s more of a weapon to be used against ignorance regarding her track record. It can have a slow burn of a life on dvd and can be used at rallies in clips. You don’t think outside the box much do you?
Let the PDS set google negative stories about her and gloat.
Come February,we in South Carolina are going to make her the GOP nominee. He who laughs last laughs loud as Hell and right in your stupid face;)
I'll say "Hey! It's September! But (insert potential candidate name here)
hasn't declared because of brilliant strategy and timing! And strategy! Unlike any other!
Youre such a bitter jerk.
You simply fail to understand my brilliant strategy and timing.
We'll see what you say in September.
Humblebummer and others wouldn’t have the guts to watch it, they may feel shame and realize what kind of idiots they actually are. It was not within a 1000 miles of where I live. Humblebummer and others are literally on the same side as Arianna Huffington and Chris Matthews when it comes to one of the only conservatives that stands up to the destroyer Obama.
She can always sell DVDs from the bus when she goes back on the road to finish the America tour...................any day now..........
Results of skulduggery by the usual suspects.
I imagine you will have a tough year ahead of you. Unless you can let go of your bitterness and hatred that is.
Never came here. I’ll buy the DVD when it comes out.
Three Words: No Marketing Budget. Not all that smart.
There's no such candidate. Have they all declared? No?
Guess you'll be waiting for that answer, huh?
Is having a film about a candidate now some kind of requirement?
Or even a potential candidate? They have to have a movie? Really?
So is The Lion King in the pool? How about Popeye?
I could probably support Wolverine from X-Men.
Yeah, films are the defining note for sure.
I’m sure a movie about his candidate would sell about 119 tickets or so. Idiots like him don’t realize that this doc is a multi-pupose utility which will come in handy in clips and will have a life of its own.

If you want off my ping list get over it!
I definitely will see the movie once it is released to DVD but even had it showed up at a cinema in my area, I'm not sure I'd want to pay full movie price to see a documentary (other than to show my support for Sarah).
I wonder how many people would have showed up at cinemas to see an Obama documentary? And I'm talking 2008, not now.
Of course, the anti-Palin people are crowing right now and making as much hay as they can. But we have yet to see who will have the last laugh.
Already, it's turning out to be a smart move on Palin's part not to have entered the campaign as of yet. Nobody is paying much attention to presidential candidates in the middle of summer with the election still well over a year away. Whatever little momentum the current candidates might have generated this summer has pretty much evaporated with all the budget drama in Washington anyhow.
Look for Palin to make a move on or about Labor Day and when she does, all hell will break loose. It's going to be a fun autumn watching all those heads explode as Palin quickly emerges as the clear frontrunner.
It’s awesomely ballsy of you to talk about me without pinging me.
Real stand-up fellow, you.
What would Sarah say?
She would probably call you a wussy and slap your face.
It was a bad idea from the beginning. The only people who would pay to see a 2 hour infomercial about Palin are die hard fans. I wouldn’t pay to see an infomercial lasting 2 hours about any candidate...or non candidate. LOL
She is a known commodity. It would have been far better to join the race earlier and change minds by competing alongside the others.
Like it ot not, people pretty much have made up their minds about her over the past 3 years. She has loyal fans, but not enough to win a national election.
No doubt some will watch it for free, and they can still sell DVD’s to the same people.
I guess The Undefeated was Defeated.
See, now there you go again.
To begin with, who goes to the movie theater to see a documentary? Bad move or not, it is a documentary. No big deal.
I actually tried to go see it this weekend, and it was gone from the theaters here in FL. They had it running through the middle of last week, then poof...gone.
It was a play off the star trek, he’s dead Jim.
That is so funny and I don’t care who doesn’t like it!
“It was a play off the star trek, hes dead Jim.”
Ah. Never got into Star Trek.
IMO, the theater release was a dumb idea. It should have gone direct to dvd and sold much the same way her books were. My intentions all along were to buy a number of copies and lend/give them out to others for education purposes. That is once they are available and Palin announces she is running. I look forward to seeing it.
LOL. Great music!
I wouldn’t waste my time pinging you, you’re just an ass who lives to spread bitterness. Repeat, wouldn’t waste my time. But thanks for responding, it makes it easier to give you another slap.
Yes, where the air is fresh and clean. But sometimes the water gets hot.
Thanks.
You were?
Did it hurt?
It was a great idea because it has multiple uses in clips, a way to educate those who don’t realize she is a principled conservative. Maybe you should get a copy on dvd what do you say? You probably wouldn’t have the guts to watch it.
