I was just watching the short morning speeches on C-SPAN when liberal Mr. Cohen from NC (I think), was referring to the fact that conservatives are now opposing the raising of the debt ceiling; but they supported same when Bush was president.
He referenced the scene in "Blazing Saddles", when the citizens of Rock Ridge were asked by the new black sheriff for just 24 more hours to solve the crisis. Denied. Whereupon Sheriff Bart protested, "You'd do it for Randolph Scott." The citizens then showed reverence at the mention of that name, and capitulated.

Actually, I picture a scene where dingy harry and the boys are sitting around the campfire eating beans and all you hear is constant farting and all you smell is noxious odor.
But then, the same is true for RATS. Urkel, 'Roid, and Nanzi P all voted against raising the debt ceiling in aught six.
There's even a YouTube video of President Clouseau admitting to Georgia Snuffleupagus his no vote was just a matter of him playing politics. I'll see if I can find it.
If Obamalamadingdong was playing politics then, why should we believe he's not playing politics now?

You know, today, I don’t particularly care for thw kind of people that made this movie. But, I have to say, that this is the kind of inspiration that has made them ‘the cream of the crop’.
Blazing Saddles could never be made today, and that is a shame. It was made back in the time that we all cared for each other, we all helped each other, and most of all...we were all Americans.
