Pelosi: GOP Connecting Debt Limit to Reducing Deficit ‘Appalling’

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said that House Republicans should not be connecting an increase to the debt limit to reducing the nation’s current $1.5 trillion deficit.

“Over 30 times we have lifted the debt ceiling since President Reagan was president. Over 30 times, not one time did we subject a president to this burden of saying you can’t – we won’t lift it unless we reduce the deficit,” said Pelosi on Wednesday at a Capitol Hill press conference celebrating the 46th anniversary of Medicare being signed into law.

“Of course we will reduce the deficit but it should not be connected and the idea that we could jeopardize whether they’re sending out social security checks or military checks or that our credit rating would be affected by this is appalling but I commend Senator Reid for trying to find a path. I commend the president for his patience, for his respect, for every view on democratic or republican view, giving it time, consideration, trying to make it work. I wish the same respect for his time was and the responsibility that we all have was there.”

Maybe if you’d tried it, we wouldn’t have had to raise the limit 30 times.

She is BEYOND delusional. Too bad the crackheads and trannies out there in San Franfreako keep foisting her on the rest of us. Perhaps the San Andreas Fault will solve our problem. Buy beachfront property in Nevada before the prices go up.

Over 30 times we have lifted the debt ceiling since President Reagan was president. Over 30 times, not one time did we subject a president...

Past mistakes are what brought us to where we are today... it's time to start doing things in a sane fashion.

Strong efforts will have to be made to make the general public, or that portion of the public with some degree of logical sense, understand that the downgrade likely coming down the pike is because the dims won’t address the deficit or spending —the the brouhaha over the debt limit.

More likely, I suppose, it’ll be blamed on those rascally Republicans.

I think I’ll use this twist with my bank. I mean how dare they link how much I can write in checks to my bank balance?

IOW, spending limits of any kind are burdensome.
Just like showing ID at a polling place to vote.
Just like 24 hour waiting periods before abortions.

Oh, but 7 days waits to buy a gun are perfect.
The Liberal way.

Earlier in our nation's history the idea of passing legislation that required expenditures without providing the source of revenue which shall fund those expenditures was rarely considered.

In the socialist world, you make an expenditure and just count of the largess of your taxpayers to forever fund your self-important endeavors.

In that same world, you spend trillions and in order to not make public that you want to do so forever, repeatedly, you just never pass a general budget exposing that irresponsibility and just exist on continuing resolutions to avoid a shut down.

When your exotic spending habits have reached the point where your currency printing of magic make-believe money cannot continue without an entire increase to the national debt ceiling to just sell Bonds promising your children's tax slavery, then you start calling saner heads names and petulantly demanding more monopoly money.

Eventually, the people being sold into slavery say, enough.

She is as nutty as a bag of peanuts.

If they get this debt limit increase, next year they will be back for another.

For 30 years they have raised it as they pleased, but the last two years have been unprecedented. Nothing in our past can compare with the way Obama and the Democrats have run through the money. Nothing.

Of course we will reduce the deficit she says.

A bald faced ,bold faced,lie.
