Brown signs California Dream Act (illegal alien financial aid)

Following through on a campaign promise, Gov. Jerry Brown signed a law Monday easing access to privately funded financial aid for undocumented college students. He also signaled that he was likely to back a more controversial measure allowing those students to seek state-funded tuition aid in the future.

Assemblyman Gil Cedillo (D-Los Angeles), author of the private financial aid measure, described it as an important but incremental step toward expanding opportunities for deserving students who were brought to the U.S. illegally through no choice of their own. Cedillo is pressing ahead with a more expansive measure that would make certain undocumented students eligible for the state's Cal Grants and other forms of state tuition aid.

Why not? Kalifornia has more money than it knows what to do with.

As long as they pay for it, who cares? California is a third world country.

Gov. Moonbeam still has a ways to go to catch up with the liberal nut cases in Tacoma, Washington.

There's really nothing in the Constitution that prevents a state from effectively giving itself away to another country, is there? I mean, if the federal government doesn't enforce the borders, why not? The incoming "immigrants" will know who to vote for. Eventually there'll be enough of them that they'll vote one of their own in. Declare their language to be the official language of the state, and that's it.

If you've got a federal tax code that puts everyone below a certain income level in a tax-free status, and if that income level cut-off is more than the newcomers are used to back home, hey! You've ceded your state to a foreign power, and collect no taxes from its population!

Brown doesn't care if he's the last Anglo governor of his state. As long as he's the last, who gives a flying ****? He sees the writing on the wall, anyway. Why fight it?

I was in 75% white area today (per the census) where we live and dropped off my son at sports camp while regular summer school was in session.

Because we have high test scores, out of 60 kids, there were 4 white kids, I counted. 50 were Asian or Indian, about 5 Latinos.

All of the Asian parents move to the White areas.

CA is all done in 20 years, you will not recognize it by 2030. LA is already Mexico City with pockets...

Planning a move in 2012-13.

People from other states will care when federal tax dollars are used to bail out CA. CA is hopeless and the left doesnt care about what they spend our money on cause they know that the country will not let CA go completely off the cliff.

I don't recognize it today.

I lived in LA for six months when I was a little kid. I'll never forget it. Heaven.

Not any more.

I lived there from 1999-2003 and I visit 4-5x a year for business and my siblings live there.

It is really a nutty place and it will eventually be more like Rio or Mexico City than Los Angeles.

Cops are overwhelmed, the social services, courts and schools are in the toilet...and the rich live in gated mansions with cameras and security, many who are flaming Liberals.

It’s a crazy place. Glad I left.

Cedilla said this was just PART 1! It authorizes private scholarships for illegals. Because that's not enough for La Raza & co...

PART 2, already having moved through a committee, will allow use of tax dollars to give illegal aliens financial aid!
