Atheist group sues to block Perry from prayer rally
Houston Chronicle ^ | July 14, 2011 | Mike Tolson

A group that has already criticized Texas Gov. Rick Perry for his involvement with a Christian prayer rally scheduled for Reliant Stadium next month went a step further Wednesday and filed a federal lawsuit in Houston to stop him from promoting it.

The Freedom From Religion Foundation claims Perry's association with the "The Response: A Call to Prayer for a National in Crisis" breaches the separation of church and state...

The lawsuit seeks an injunction barring Perry's official involvement. A Perry spokesman said he won't back away from the event...

The suit also seeks to halt further publication of the proclamation, to declare the use of the official state seal of Texas unconstitutional, to order the governor to withdraw permission for the AFA to use his written and videotaped promotions and radio recordings, to remove links from the governor's web site, as well as enjoining Perry from issuing and disseminating additional Day of Prayer proclamations or designations.

The tolerance of the Left is a wonderful thing to behold.

Oh, but if he were conducting an atheist, Muslim, Buddhist or Hindu rally, they wouldn’t say a word.....

Faith, family and country.

The Left wants government to replace that list.

Perry should sue them for NOT attending. That’s how stupid this is. By the way.....there is no such thing in our government as “Seperation of church and state.” Courts should throw this out just on this alone.

Can we have Freedom from Atheism, too?

Liberals sure hate other people's freedom.

I wonder if these intolerant dopes understand just how much they’re helping Perry’s presidential aspirations.

The more shrill these atheist/ACLU/PAW goons get, the more apathetic and ugly they look to anybody with a modicum of common sense. Of course, those who have this modicum of common sense seem to be a remnant in this country, these days.

So the Atheists are now out in the open about their fear of "word magic" (that's the deal with banning the state seal).

One does imagine that they'll soon reach beyond murdering infants to burning witches.

Once dated an Atheist chick.

In the throes of passion she'd cry out, "Oh, me! Oh, ME!"

That’s what I was going to say.

I don’t know why the atheists have decided to help the Perry Presidential run, but this crap can only help Perry.

It’s better than paid advertisement.

...enjoining Perry from issuing and disseminating additional Day of Prayer proclamations or designations.

Have they filed a similar law-suit against Barack Obama?

A life here on earth without atheists, liberals, criminals, etc.... would be a little taste of heaven while here on the terra ferma. Unfortunately its taste becomes more and more like diablos burnt sulphur everyday.

Actually, he might as well be.

The people he is partnering with to do this thing are apostates.

This world IS the dominion of Satan (the prince of this world), so you should expect no different.

But it won't be this way for long.
