Are you sure Tricare is administered by Medicare? I thought it was DOD? To clear up another statement earlier by someone else... Tricare for Life is for after 65. Tricare is just us retired military no matter the age or you could even use tricare as your insurance if you are active duty.

Isn’t CVS one of Soros’ companies? I refuse to shop Wal-Mart because of all the China crap and all their undercutting of small merchants when they first take over a town. If Walgreens is off the list, I am out of drug stores in my area.

I’m a retiree, and I’ll support Walgreens even more. They are in business to make money, not lose it by selling stuff at a loss

Husband says that Walgreens gets to write it off as a loss on their taxes.

I agree with you. I blame Express Scripts. Right now, they will pay $30 for a $210 prescript of one of my monthly meds.

Walgreens has a very liberal management team that is very gay-friendly.

BFD

What does that have to do with economic decisions when they are getting screwed by Tricare and O'Care who notoriously refuse to pay for services by pharmacies or doctors at a fair rate?

$3-$9 a prescription is still a whole lot better than most people get.

I noticed this was taken off of "frontpage". Too bad. Comments have slowed down a lot since then.

Wife and I are on MC/TCFL. We get all our meds via Express Scripts at our local grocery store pharmacy "gerbes".

We also have mail order through ES.

I noticed that lots of pharmacies in chain stores offer generic meds for $4/mo that are on their list of approvals. Walmart and Gerbes being two that I know of.

If the pharmacies stop filling RXs via ES, I assume I can still get our RXs via mail order with ES. Of course they won't fill controlled type meds but otherwise......

Thanks for the heads up and keep us informed as you have been doing so well.

Walgreen no longer accepts Tricare for perscription coverage. Will CVS and Rite Aid follow?

Probably.

"I personally will be boycotting Walgreen’s"

so...they should operate at a loss? Better to boycott Obama and Katleen Sibelius.

Making the retired Military suffer is not good business. And as each chains contract comes up, Express Scripts will pull the same thing. Their goal is single BAD provider for seniors who are retired Military.

We will be boycotting 0 and his crew come ‘12. BUT I will NOT hold my nose and vote for the Romney RINOS. Because to do so will be the down fall of the USA.

Medicare is NOT free, it is a tax to begin with, then a monthly premium after you go on it. Tricare was promised to the Military as part of their enlistment and reenlistments. And is paid for by our men and women working for sub par pay for 20 + years. Plus all the time spent in the field, the injuries, the PSTD, months away from their families, you name it, our Troops have paid the price already.

Medicare’s payment to the providers sucks, we all know that. But neither ryancare or 0’care address the real causes...40+ years of donor palm greasing, that drives up the cost. Only difference in ryancare and 0’care is that ryan just guts for 10 years, then gives subsidies to the younger generations. While 0’care just guts $8 trillion over 20 years to force the single provider.

Tricare for Life is the over 65 retiree’s secondary to Medicare, and both are administered out of the same office. This info comes straight from our doctors office. We do not fill out different paper work for each program, just the one.

Tricare Prime is for those under 65. Which will be raising their co-pays.

We on TFL had certain raised co-pays 2 years ago for the more expensive drugs.

My local drug store treats me like family, ES treats me like dirt under their finger nails.

But be aware NOT all generics work as well as name brand, Synthroid is one of those drugs, and ES flags many name brands as needing prior approval, and you have a dozen hoops to jump through and your congress critter to get them to cover the name brand. The generic is crap, makes ulcers in your mouth and makes you loose your hair, nor does it work as well. A real great generic they are trying tp palm off on us.

We are also seeing shortages of certain ‘generics’ and you will never know from month to month what you will be getting, even at the local drug store. And as I said some of these generics carry some nasty side effects that name brand or your original generic didn’t have.

Don’t know about you I don’t like being a test animal for Express Scripts.
