President Barack Obama has put raising the Medicare eligibility age on the table in the budget and debt talks with GOP congressional leaders, a Democratic official familiar with the talks confirmed Monday. Obama said he would only agree to the change if it was part of a major deal on spending, and it demonstrated his commitment to taking on "sacred cows," the official said. The increase in the eligibility age could be more palatable, the official said, because the new health law would expand access to insurance coverage for older Americans not yet eligible for Medicare
ObamaCare will blow a hole in the budget already, raising the age for Medicare will only make the problem worse. This fool has the temerity to actually claim he is being courageous by moving Medicare people onto ObamaCare?
This whole debt ceiling 'negotiation' is turning into a farce, it is obvious the POTUS is not serious about facing up to America's problems. His Feb budget was voted down 97-0 in the Senate, and now he tries to pretend he is a budget cutting fiscal conservative? Give me a break!
Like Rush said, the GOP should offer a tax on union members, GE and GM.
real compromise.
lol
The idea of raising the age of qualification for Medicare is something that is going to have to occur anyway. Medicare is a huge ponzi scheme and it is unaffordable.
The problem is that he wants massive tax increases on top of the cut and to cover those not yet 65 by Obamacare, thereby negating any savings from the cut.
It is merely more of the same. Obama is a used car salesman. A bad one at that.
He is trying to beat out Casey Anthony as Top Liar. He is pulling ahead.
How I know he has pointed out what Taxes he wants yet he has not said 1 Cut.
It’s somehow fitting this fell right above “Gonorrhoea strain found to be ‘resistant to antibiotics’”
