Palin Plots Her Next Move (Newsweek released article early because of high demand)
Newsweek ^ | Sunday July 10, 2011 | Peter Boyer

Posted on 07/10/2011 1:13:27 PM PDT by Bigtigermike

'I believe that I can win a national election,' Sarah Palin declared one recent evening, sitting in the private dining room of a hotel in rural Iowa. The occasion for her visit to quintessential small-town America was a gathering of the faithful that would have instantaneously erupted into a fervent campaign rally had she but given the word. Instead, it had been another day on the non–campaign trail, this one capped by a sweet victory: she had just attended the premiere of a glowingly positive documentary about her titled The Undefeated.

“The people of America are desperate for positive change, and deserving of positive change, to get us off of this wrong track,” she told me during a conversation that lasted late into the night and, inevitably, kept returning to the subject that has titillated the media and spooked Republican presidential contenders for months: her political intentions. “I’m not so egotistical as to believe that it has to be me, or it can only be me, to turn things around,” she said. “But I do believe that I can win.”

[....]

If Palin doesn’t end up running, the reason will be simple, she said. “Family. If it came down to the family just saying, ‘Please, Mom, don’t do this,’ then that would be the deal-killer for me, because your family’s gotta be in it with you.”

[...]

The mainstream press is becoming less and less relevant,” she said, adding that she would have no hesitation in shunning media outlets she does not trust.

“I would say no to those who have lied about me. There is no need to reward bad behavior. I’ve learned. You know, once bitten, twice shy. I have learned.”

If we're fearful of what the MSM will do (which their going to do to anyone receiving the nomination) then we may as well not even have a nominee.

I wouldn't worry about the base of the Left. I would be concerned with our base and it's turn out.

There seems something very special about Gov. Palin, the likes of which I haven't seen before in politics in my lifetime (including President Reagan).

I guess I have no mixed feelings.

That is an amusing image. By count, there are twice as many signs as there are people there to support Romney.

From the end of that Newsweek article:
...Moreover, Palin plainly thrives within that very tight circle she has drawn around herself, with Todd at its center, acting as gatekeeper and principal adviser.

A campaign—even one as defiant of conformity as Palin’s would likely be—would require expanding that circle to include political professionals of uncertain loyalty. And it would mean opening the door to news organizations with which she has been openly feuding for the last couple of years.

Or not.

“The mainstream press is becoming less and less relevant,” she said, adding that she would have no hesitation in shunning media outlets she does not trust.

“I would say no to those who have lied about me. There is no need to reward bad behavior. I’ve learned. You know, once bitten, twice shy. I have learned.”

Perhaps, but I feel a special connection with and concern for Palin that I’ve never felt with any other politician, including Reagan.

I just don’t want to see her destroyed.

Sarah said that her family would have to be on board for her to run. Todd has already said that the family has been ‘tested’ and Bristol said she'd like to see her Mom run. I'd guess that Track and Willow would be for it. Piper? Only if she'd be allowed to stiff-arm a few more reporters and run interference.

From the article:

[SNIP]

But before we began, she and Todd, both working their omnipresent BlackBerrys, conducted a bit of urgent family business.

SARAH: I have to answer Piper real quick. She is not going to get her hair cut. What is she thinking?

TODD: No, she’s not.

SARAH: You need to tell her that, she’ll obey you … You told her no, Todd? OK, I’m puttin’ mine away.
[SNIP]

ROFL!!!

I think Sarah enjoys the crucible.

She’s definitely found a way to balance family and ‘business’ that you have to admit has proven both financially and politically sound.

Control the media when ya can where ya can and leave ‘em in the dust otherwise.

It means that she will run, Sarah said as far back as last December on Hannity that her family (children) was on board and that Todd was leaning to yes (at that time)

I believe part of the New England tour was for her parents to see that it was safe for her if she ran (they both had once said that they were concerned about her safety)

The elites are scared. They know their power is eroding, and will do everything they can to cling onto their wealth and influence at the expense of society as a whole. Get ready, because they’re going to try and destroy the country before they are willing to give it up.

We'll see about that.

We are in a knock down drag out war with Marxism, Sarah is the best commanding general we'd got.

War is hell and it is going to be hell here in the USA for quite some time. Get ready to fight cause like it or not the battle is about to be joined.

Eventually that’s going to backfire. Remember the 20k emails? All this did for me was have me believe she’s about as squeaky clean as a politician can be.

I’m not sure how much more worse it can get. They followed her every move when she became a public citizen. Not to mention the fact, bozo has a record to run on now.

They’re going to have to hide bad bozo news and trash Palin at the same time. I think this country is going to get much worse—economically speaking— that it’s going to be a different dynamic.

I know what you mean though, one really bad verbal mistake or email, and it may be all you hear about. However, when UE is 10% and gas 4 dollars a gallon, I’m not sure how many people are going to care what the latest SNL skit is trying to convey. One thing I have 100% faith in: Obama’s economic policy is not working and it’s getting worse. Advantage Palin.

That’s when they hit the law of diminishing returns.

There is really nothing left that these people can throw at her after they accused her of shooting a congresswomen, and mocking her children and calling her a bimbo.

The only ting left to do is for the MSM to literally sh*t on a photo of her on-air.

Worse than the Civil War? It’s bad now, but we’ve been on a downward path for decades. Obama just sped it up.
