A circumcision ban measure on the November ballot contains clearly anti-Semitic campaign material and targets members of the Jewish faith, according to a press release Thursday from the San Francisco City Attorney’s Office.
Jewish groups, along with some Muslim individuals, filed a lawsuit over the measure last week against The City’s director of elections and Lloyd Schofield, the San Francisco resident who gathered more than 12,000 signatures to get the proposed ban on the ballot.
Groups that filed the suit argue that state law prevents local jurisdictions from restricting medical practice by “healing arts professionals” and that the ban would limit First Amendment rights to free religious practice.
The ban would make male circumcision a misdemeanor punishable by a $1,000 fine and up to a year in jail.
The City Attorney’s Office release said while it normally reserves judgment on pre-election challenges, the circumcision ban is a special case because of comic books depicting Jewish mohels as sinister villains, material that was endorsed by the organization seeking the ban.
The release said the comic books are “darkly evocative of Nazi propaganda of the 1930s and 1940s.”
Schofield said he equates the continuance of legal male circumcision with allowing Mormons to practice polygamy and Christian Scientists to deny their children access to medical services.

This is stupid and bizarre. What is this guy’s real motivation? For Jews, this is a religious practice. But, I believe (correct me if I’m wrong) isn’t circumcision performed routinely in hospitals on most boy babies shortly after birth? I don’t want to get graphic, but it has to do with male cleanliness and such. It’s a standard practice recommended by doctors, usually unless the parents requests otherwise.
Whatever the reason, health or religion, this is a matter for parents to decide with their baby son’s doctor.
An absurd assertion; only the San Francisco pervert culture could come up with such juvenile ignorant comparisons. AIDS must addle many brains.
Polygamy impacts society in an enormous varieties of ways, not just the "family" involved.
Christian Scientists are a special case, and involves serious complications and even death, and can already be dealt with with existing child protection programs and laws. No such dangers accrue to circumcision.
What ever happened to the pervert worship of "Freedom of Choice?"

Circumcision in not any more dangerous than earlobe piercing, and infinitely less dangerous than the piercings of body parts that can't be discussed in a family forum. That San Francisco has the chutzpah to even present this sicko law proposal is mind-boggling.

I got into an argument with a lib over this the other day. He said that it was a matter of “human rights” and that parents had no right to choose to “maim” their babies. I then asked him why it was okay for them “choose” to kill a viable baby in the womb, but not “choose” to circumcise that same baby. His response was to get angry and say “Then Republicans can take care of crack babies!” and he left.
I am in shock! I have seen horrible stories on FR that are disturbing, but this “cartoon,” which at first glance seems silly, is truly, deeply upsetting because of its implications. This is one step away from endorsing concentration camps, in my book, or maybe not even one step! Basically the message is clear: “Jews are evil.” This is the sickest thing I have seen in a long time. It’s more than hateful, it’s depraved.

Put two and two together... Homosexuals have an unhealthy obsession with the uncircumcised. This is entirely about sodomites trying to impose their standards on your kids, whom they intend to recruit.
So who is Schofield? He won't say much other than that he's a 58-year-old who used to work for a "major hotel chain." He lives with his partner near Buena Vista Park, and they have no children. His Facebook page notes he's a fan of "The WHOLE Network", "Bring Back Saving Penises" and "Catholics Against Circumcision." But don't bother asking whether he had the procedure done himself.
