CORAL GABLES (LALATE) – The George Anthony suicide note and testimony today in the Casey Anthony trial portrayed him as a person with inconsistencies. George Anthony’s testimony, the defense argues, is full of lies. Anthony asserts he is playing both sides of the fence to help find his granddaughter Caylee. But in successful questioning Wednesday, the defense was able to prove that George Anthony is riddled with inconsistent positions.
George Anthony told the jury today “Apparently I did say nothing but negative things about my daughter” during his questioning by investigators. Jose Baez was able to get George Anthony to admit that he gave negative statements about Casey Anthony to investigators, but then went to jail and said loving statements to his daughter. George Anthony admitted to the conduct, but attempted to justify his actions as an investigators doing anything and everything to find his granddaughter.
Why would George Anthony be so nice to Casey in jail but give statements against her to investigators? Anthony told the jury today “you try to keep them upbeat when they are in a … facility with no contact.” Jose Baez asked a powerful follow-up question. “So you were undercover?” The State objected, but the question was allowed. “No I wasn’t.”
The Jose Baez asserted that George Anthony was happy to leave his daughter in prison, that he was not a loving father. Baez did this through questions about George Anthony’s refusal to bail out his daughter. “And you were aware that you daughter wanted to be bonded out?” Anthony said “yes”. Baez asked “the reason is that you would not bound him out is that you would not put up your house for collateral?” The Court disallowed an answer for the question. Baez followed up with more questions, also sustained. “You testified against your daughter at the grand jury, didn’t you?”
The defense has been successful in proving that he was not both “a father but also an investigator”. Rather, Anthony admitted to working against Casey Anthony and working for the State. The defense was able to show that one day Anthony is talking nice to his daughter and then next day he is trying to throw her under the bus. As legal analysts told news broadcasters this morning. “George Anthony is playing both sides.”
George Anthony was combative, angry, and unresponsive to questions from Jose Baez. On multiple questions, Anthony gave narratives on personal attack against Baez rather than answer questions.
As to the suicide note, Anthony was found the last week of January 2009 in a Daytona Beach motel room (pictured above) with empty pill bottles and a suicide note. A 911 call was made by attorney Brad Conway at the time. “George Anthony has been gone since 8:30 this morning and he has taken several bottles of medication from his house.”
Reports claimed that he sent pre-suicide attempt text messages. They included that he “did not want to live anymore”; he wanted “to be with Caylee”; and that he missed Krystal Holloway aka River Cruz. Orange County Sheriffs eventually found George Anthony at the Hawaii Motel on Ridgewood Avenue in Daytona Beach, and transported him to Halifax Medical Center for psychological evaluation.

There’s no doubt in my mind she did it. She should be fried for what she’s done. The constant reminder of how evil people can be sucks.
George said he is 100% certain he smelled a dead body in his car when he picked it up at impound. His Grandaughter is missing. He is an ex-cop. Can someone explain why he did not call 911 and report it and treat the car as a crime scene?
What did she do? Explain how you know.
I’ve ben watching this debacle off and on and have come to the conclusion that the mother of the little girl learned how to lie from excellent examples in the house...

The only thing I have seen about this trial was when I was waiting to go on a tour at CNN HQ in Atlanta. My first thought was that the grandmother was complicit.
My second thought was “If the child were black, we would be watching something else”. I got the feeling the whole media coverage was based on Florida’s rule about video in court and the child was white rather than the importance of the case.
Remember, the prosecutors have to convince 12 jurors that she’s guilty.
The defense has to convince only ONE that she’s not...............
If my daughter killed my grandaughter, I would be in absolutely no hurry to see her get out of prison.
I have paid very little attention to the case, but still, WTF does this mean?
