Why would I need to explain that?

The email implies that he was not a student at Columbia in 1983.

The article of his that was published in the same year would disprove such a theory.

B. Obama:

“Congratulations to the entire class of 2009. Congratulations to you. I don’t know if anybody else will meet their future wife or husband in class like I did, but I’m sure you’ll all going to have wonderful careers.”

Video here.

Well, which is it?

Class or law firm?

It is just natural for Obama to lie - about everything.

Why doesn't the MSM ever ask a meaningful question for its public?
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Why doesn't the conservative media bring it up? Hm? That they didn't, and still don't, is heartbreakingly disappointing. I trusted those guys and gals. Not any more! I will **never** forgive them.

If true tyranny comes to our nation the so-called conservative yappers will sell their talents to the fascist oligarchy and lick the jack boot crushing our necks. Count on it.

And....What about our very highest military officers? Hm? When did supporting and upholding identity theft, lying, election fraud, and impersonating a Commander in Chief become part of the military code of honor? Where is the evidence that they legally and peacefully sought certifiable clarification from congress and the courts? Honestly, I don't know why lightning doesn't strike when these guys return the salutes of our brave, honorable, and very capable service men and women.

Obama attended Columbia College from 1981 to 1983, after transferring in his junior year from Occidental College.

The rest of the article explains it as follows:

James Grogan, deputy administrator and chief counsel for the Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission of the Supreme Court of Illinois, or ARDC, has been with the commission for 30 years. He told WND that on July 1, 1994, the Illinois Supreme Court entered an order allowing Michelle to be transferred to inactive status pursuant to Illinois Supreme Court rule 770.

The ARDC website explains, “Prior to November 1, 1999, former Supreme Court Rule 770 provided for a proceeding in the Court for any voluntary transfer to inactive status, whether because of some incapacitating condition or solely as a matter of the lawyer’s preference because the lawyer would not be practicing law.”

Grogan explained, “At the time, the only way to go on inactive status was to do what she did – which was to file a petition in the Illinois Supreme Court.”

He said attorneys often filed a petition for 770 when they wanted to pursue other careers, retire or begin raising a family.

“At the time, this happened all the time,” he said. “Our office would have to file what’s known as a consent.”

Grogan said his office would have immediately alerted the court in a public filing if there had been reason to believe she should face disciplinary action.

“We filed a consent in Michelle Obama’s case in which we had no objection to her transferring to inactive status,” he said. “In the event that she did go on inactive status and she engaged in any disbarrable offenses, there would be a disciplinary case of public record.”

He continued, “Just because someone goes on inactive it doesn’t deprive us of the jurisdiction to prosecute.”

Inundated by numerous 770 filings that each required a separate court ruling, the Illinois Supreme Court later simplified the inactivation process. In 2005, after Barack Obama was elected to the U.S. Senate, he changed his status to inactive as well.

“By 2005, which is several years later than his wife, the rule had changed such that you no longer had to file a petition that was such a pain for the court,” Grogan explained. “Instead, the court had changed it to two types of status: inactive or retired. Either situation involves merely sending a letter to us basically saying, ‘I want to transfer to inactive status.’”

Active lawyers are required to pay $289 each year and take 30 hours of Continuing Legal Education, or CLE, every two years. Under inactive status, attorneys are not required to take the courses, but they must pay $105 each year. “Inactive” registrants are not authorized to practice law. Lawyers who retire do not have to pay fees or take courses.

“A lot of people who aren’t practicing say, ‘Why bother?’” Grogan said.

Barack Obama remained listed as inactive until he retired this year.

The title “The Sundial” does not come up in Wikipedia’s list of official Columbia University publications.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Columbia_University

From Wiki:
Columbia University is home to a rich diversity of undergraduate, graduate, and professional publications. The Columbia Daily Spectator is the nation's second-oldest student newspaper;[142] and The Blue and White,[143] a monthly literary magazine established in 1890, has recently begun to delve into campus life and local politics in print and on its daily blog, dubbed the Bwog.
Political publications include The Current,[144] a journal of politics, culture and Jewish Affairs; the Columbia Political Review,[145] the multi-partisan political magazine of the Columbia Political Union; and AdHoc,[146] which denotes itself as the “progressive” campus magazine and deals largely with local political issues and arts events.
Arts and literary publications include the Columbia Review,[147] the nation's oldest college literary magazine; Columbia, a nationally regarded literary journal; the Columbia Journal of Literary Criticism;[148] and The Mobius Strip,[149] an online arts and literary magazine. Inside New York[150] is an annual guidebook to New York City, written, edited, and published by Columbia undergraduates. Through a distribution agreement with Columbia University Press, the book is sold at major retailers and independent bookstores.
Columbia is home to numerous undergraduate academic publications. The Journal of Politics & Society,[151] is a journal of undergraduate research in the social sciences, published and distributed nationally by the Helvidius Group; Publius is an undergraduate journal of politics established in 2008 and published biannually;[152] the Columbia East Asia Review allows undergraduates throughout the world to publish original work on China, Japan, Korea, Tibet, and Vietnam and is supported by the Weatherhead East Asian Institute;[153] and The Birch,[154] is an undergraduate journal of Eastern European and Eurasian culture that is the first national student-run journal of its kind; and the Columbia Science Review is a science magazine that prints general interest articles, faculty profiles, and student research papers.[155]
The Fed[156] a triweekly satire and investigative newspaper, and the Jester of Columbia,[157] the newly (and frequently) revived campus humor magazine both inject humor into local life. Other publications include The Columbian, the undergraduate colleges’ annually published yearbook[158] the Gadfly, a biannual journal of popular philosophy produced by undergraduates;[159] and Rhapsody in Blue, an undergraduate urban studies magazine.[160] Professional journals published by academic departments at Columbia University include Current Musicology[161] and The Journal of Philosophy.[162] During the spring semester, graduate students in the Journalism School publish The Bronx Beat, a bi-weekly newspaper covering the South Bronx. Teachers College publishes the Teachers College Record, a journal of research, analysis, and commentary in the field of education, published continuously since 1900.[163]
Founded in 1961 under the auspices of Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism, Columbia Journalism Review (CJR) examines day-to-day press performance as well as the forces that affect that performance. The magazine is published six times a year, and offers a deliberative mix of reporting, analysis, criticism, and commentary. CJR.org, its Web site, delivers real-time criticism and reporting, giving CJR a vital presence in the ongoing conversation about the media. Both online and in print, Columbia Journalism Review is in conversation with a community of people who share a commitment to high journalistic standards in the U.S. and the world.[164]

If I were the editor of a paper that published the one article written by a current president, I think I might remember it and the man who supposedly wrote it. So?....Where is this editor?

And...Wiki does not list “The Sundial” as an publication of the university. Maybe it was a throw away neighborhood rag that are common around schools like Columbia.

Or some CIA/KGB/Soros/Bilderberg/Roswell space alien conspiracy in which they conspired to write and publish a leftist anti-American article and have it printed on really old newsprint and attribute it to Obama in order to show that he went to Columbia.

Nothing worse than half-truths.

Nice try, but no sale. Why would well educated attorneys put their law license in inactive status? Regardless of whether they were currently practicing law. We are talking about Illinois (as in Chicago).

If you want quotes about the funds Obama has spent sequestering his records, just Google it. You'll get plenty of hits.

On the health records issue, McCain released all of his health history and, according to ABC news, it was over 1200 pages. Obama's was less than 2 pages.

On college records, while previous presidents may not have released their college records themselves, Obama is the only president to hide them. Indeed, he has hidden virtually everything from his past. Why?

He is also the only president to ever submit a doctored birth certificate to the public. Why bother, unless there is something to hide.

The Saudi's (or whomever) would gladly foot the bill for a Harvard education if those credentials greased the path that would let him slide into the White House. Also, his attendance there was at a time when universities were bending over backwards to get minorities to enroll.

I would let all of this slide if Obama would simply sit down with an "unscreened" audience and answer these questions. I would also like to see him personally submit a birth certificate. That way, he has no recourse to fall back on by saying "I didn't authorize those people to release that birth certificate!" So far, only "his people" have submitted a BC.

Until all these questions are answered and those answers verified, I think he's totally bogus.

I hate unsubstantiated rumors.

Yep, I'm pretty much the same: I hate it when someone quits their research when they find one source that suits their purpose. Michelle did not voluntarily surrender her license, she was under court order to do so for disciplinary reasons. You can see a copy of the court order yourself at:

http://atlasshrugs2000.typepad.com/atlas_shrugs/2008/12/wtf-michelle-ob.html

Also, Obama was elected to the IL senate in 1996. The court order for her to stop practicing law was in 1993. Your story is simply wrong.

He wants to bankrupt the coal industry.

...and the oil industry, the financial sector, the technology sector, the auto industry, the puppy industry...you name it. Either he is a complete economic idiot or a devious man out to destroy capitalism. I think I know which it is...

Obama's "Aloha" Days In The Spotlight

A few people in 0bama's past have come forward, but not really very many seem to remember him considering that he's supposed to be so intelligent, well spoken and charming. I suspect there's quite a bit about his time at Occidental and Columbia that is unremarkable or he doesn't want people to know about.
