...I write to address a political golden calf; the claim that the current agenda calling itself "progressive" is progressive at all. The term implies progress toward something better. The political agenda being offered under the moniker of "progressive" is, in effect, regressive. What is happening is a clash of worldviews which involves competing definitions of human freedom, human flourishing and true progress.
The commentator Glen Beck has convinced many that the word "progressive" should be abandoned. He asserts that the word has been so utterly co-opted by George Soros and others with left wing political ideologies that it is irretrievable. I refuse to give up this word. Instead, I suggest we challenge the claims of those who have stolen the word "progressive" to disguise a statist, collectivist and immoral cultural and political revolution which will result in the loss of authentic human freedom and impede true progress.
The dictionary defines "progressive" as an adjective, meaning "Moving forward; advancing." We have lived through the use of word games too many times in the last few decades. The misuse of the word "progressive" is just one more example of what the late great C.S. Lewis, in his "Studies in Words" called "verbicide."
An essay of his, found in "God in the Dock: Essays on Theology and Ethics" and entitled "Is Progress Possible? Willing Slaves of the Welfare State," warned, "Let us not be deceived by phrases about 'Man taking charge of his own destiny.' All that can really happen is that some men will take charge of the destiny of others. . . . The more completely we are planned the more powerful they will be." ....

Why do we permit these people to change our common vocabulary and popular usage to suit themselves?
If we are honest about what people self-define as “progressive” (used to be “liberal”), it can be understood that a progressive cannot be expected to uphold any constant moral value.
In fact progressives expect themselves and their fellow travelers always be searching for concepts that are thought to be better than whatever is unsatisfactory in our lives. They cannot have principles. Even when they do, they are quick to change deeply held beliefs the moment other opinion leaders sufficiently disapprove of them.
God tells people that His values never change. He makes His values plainly visible in the pages of Scripture. He pleads with people to have faith that His values are, on balance, the best ones for humanity.
People are going to base their hopes and actions on some value calculation. God also warns us that Satan is attempting to seduce us to reject God’s values.
What this country needs is a non-politician to lead the way.
The closest your gonna get is SARAH. She has the guts to buck the progressives=liberals=socialist=(One world governance).

At the turn of the last century they stole the term liberal and used it to enslave millions.
At the turn of this century they became true blue to hide their deep red insides.
The article is great and the author correct. Let’s take back our language along with our country. I’d like to get the rainbow back as a symbol of God’s covenant with Noah, too.
At the root of it all is there utter hatred and contempt for God, even though they attempt to mask it in platitudes and condescension. I would never TRUST or VOTE for someone who calls their self a progressive. Their history make it impossible. They would be a wolf in sheep's clothing and we are instructed to as wise as serpents but as harmless as doves in such matters.

While we need a candidate who adheres to the faith, that need is far, far eclipsed by the need for someone who is strong on shrinking government, strong on reducing taxes and legislation, strong on illegal immigration and strong on defense. These are the values that will save our country and our society, while conservative social issues will not.
A candidate who is weak on amnesty, weak on spending, weak on sovereignty and weak on exanding government (but strong on right-to-life) will run this country over the cliff just as surely as any marxist will. Just take a look at where the last globalist fruitcake, compassionate-conservatism idiot took us.
