Nothing like a proposed ban on circumcision to bring Jews and Muslims together.
Local chapters of the Jewish Community Relations Council and Anti-Defamation League are teaming up with a couple of practicing Jewish and Muslim families to file a lawsuit demanding that San Francisco's elections director remove the highly publicized circumcision ban from the November ballot.
The lawsuit, which is expected to be filed today in San Francisco Superior Court, argues that circumcision is a common medical procedure regulated by state law - and that it has no business being decided by city voters.

I’m sure that the ban will be lifted for Muslims only, with the additional allowance of female circumcision.

San Francisco basks in a “science” of perversion and neglect. It has no inkling of what sacrifice is needed in order to promote love of the other, and it certainly cannot comprehend the metaphores and symbolism in circumcision.

You misspelled it. Here is the correction.
I’m glad people are challenging this un-G-dly proposed ban, but I have a question: if people are (legitimately) concerned about the erosion of “religious freedom” inherent in such a law, why is it that the criminalization of rejection of homosexuality is advancing at a mile a minute and only conservatives seem concerned? Why do liberals who understand objections to circumcision bans not understand objections to all the pressure being put on everyone to “update” sexual morality?

Female circumcision is a misnomer. There is no excess skin to circumsize. They just cut off a large chunk of her vulva, generally including the clitoris. Nothing but mutilation, of course it destroys sexual function and can interfere with urination and hygiene as well.
As opposed to male circumcision, whether we want it or not, which does not destroy sexual function (some say it enhances it, I don’t know) and increases hygiene. Also far less painful, it is just the removal of some skin.
Now talk about strange bedfellows...
I have some speculation on that.
First, they know that they've got their people in place within most divinity schools with whom to morph a sufficient number of followers by which to gain majority support, a leftist practice since the days of Abraham Geiger.
Second, by ignoring the very existence of residual religious objection, those arguments do not make it into the public discourse.
Third, with the power of state licensing of the psychiatric and psychological professions, they know that those professional organizations will see a bonanza in sexual, marital, and as a result, child dysfunction lasting a lifetime. The transfer of morality to being a matter of "mental health" was always a prime goal of communist infiltrators since the arrival of the Frankfurt School here in the US in the 1930s. With them came the Cultural Marxism, of which this discussion is but a symptom.
This is all just for publicity. It is just a childish stunt.

This reminds me of the calls to ban urinals in Sweden and to force men to sit like women, as if years of experience hunting and running around in the woods or what not had to be discarded.
It’s all domination arbitrary authority talk of insane people, “any excuse” harassers and criminals.
