What's with the hatred of Michele Bachmann at Free Republic?

Posted on 06/19/2011 1:04:04 PM PDT by EveningStar

What's with the hatred of Michele Bachmann at Free Republic lately?

I've seen some psychotic paranoid drivel about her secretly working for Mitt Romney, but apparently there's more to it than that.

Please help me out here, folks.

Why feign ignorance, in between trolling against Palin, haven’t you read about Bachmann hiring Ed Rollins and revealing a campaign strategy of attacking Governor Palin, and staying away from Mitt criticism?
///
you nailed it.

i would ask the original poster,
After Jim Robinson made his recent big post about Romney,
who did all the Romney supporters here switch to?
(surely they wouldn’t switch to someone so opposite of moderate Romney?)

...and, if you search old posts, you will find almost universal praise for Bachmann here on FR, until she hired Rollins.
She hired him, knowing he had already attacked Palin repeatedly. He continued to do so after being hired.
Yet Bachmann didn’t fire him or even rebuke him.

(and, Rollins did NOT attack the Rhino front-runner, who was a declared candidate, and who would be the logical target of ANY true Tea Party leader like Bachmann.)

Many people here, had even donated money to Bachmann before.
and they were calling her campaign, to tell them they never would again. Those people certainly didn’t “hate” Bachmann.

Bachmann was my FIRST choice among declared candidates before.

None of us were attacking Bachmann. we were reacting to what we considered to be poor decisions by a true conservative “Tea Party” candidate.
...the executive decisions that a candidate makes, DO matter, in selecting a nominee...

I used to want to blame sunspots.. but now, I am suspect of genetically modified foods.

It could be subliminal suggestion too, spread thru social networking.

or it could be we have a plethora of PR folks for many sides passing thru the gut of FR and making it a bit upsetting occasionally. the comforting thought, in the end, they too shall all pass.

Well, I’m sickened by a “conservative” throwing half her supporters in the tea party under the bus over the birther issue, then turning around and hiring a RINO to run her campaign.

If you put a dot on a piece of copy paper, that’s what Michelle Bachmann knows about running a national campaign. The rest of the paper is what Ed Rollins knows about it.That’s why she hired Rollins.First job of an executive is to identify your limitations and hire a qualified person to rectify them.Rollins is a hired gun.He will adapt to his employer’s positions, not the other way around.

1. She's not Sarah Palin

2. She's not supposed to be running for president, Sarah Palin is.

Simple enough.

Thats pretty much it. Anyone who dares commit the cardinal sin of running for president in the primary this year, is automatically a evil sinister communist enemy of America who probably hates Governor Palin and plots evil against her......LOL

I want Governor Palin to run, it doesn't mean I think anyone or everyone in the election is a enemy of the people, unlike many other freepers here.

Hell, I think one freeper was planning on living in a cave as a hermit if Governor Palin chose not to run.....LOL

Because Sarah Palin is the Real Deal, the one who will restore the Republican Party to its rightful conservative greatness, the one who will bring us back to the Reagan Legacy, the one who will beat back the barbarian hordes of the Democrat Party, the one who will restore the economy and Christianity in America.

Oh wait. Replace Sarah Palin with Baraq Obama, Republican wiht Democrat and vice-versa, conservative with liberal, Reagan with FDR, Christianity with Progressiveness....and you are a liberal talking about Obama in 2008.

Sarah Palin is a great conservative and has a place of prominence in the 2012 race, but the messiahlike qualities being given to her by a lot of folks at FR is a bit disturbing. Even if she wins the primaries and the Presidency, she will disappoint them by not returning America to a time that no longer exists. The nature of American politics has degraded to a point where ideological purity is mandatory on both sides, where compromise with the other side merely gives them a weapon to use against you in a future election.

I’m a big Palin supporter, but resigning in the middle of her first term as Governor would be the end of just about any politican’s career, but her charisma and the devotion of her followers is keeping her in the game. Because of the resignation, she does not automatically get my vote or support in this election. She needs to earn it just as Bachmann or Cain needs to earn it.

Two of the three are in the race, working for my vote. One is not. That is what’s important. Tearing down Bachmann and Cain while waiting for Palin to lead us out of the wilderness is counter-productive when Palin hasn’t yet committed to lead us.

From this vanity: "I've seen some psychotic paranoid drivel about her..."

"Please help me out here, folks."

I call that stressful.

The MSM failed to destroy Palin during her bus tour. That is a success considering we were told by these types that Palin would be destroyed by the press.

Were you expecting her to cure cancer or something?

Michelle Bachmann is not perfect, but neither are any of the other conservatives. Cain failed to sign the pro-life petition. Palin backed McCain.

I posted against the Rollins hiring and his nasty attack. But now, thanks to the division among the real conservatives, an opening has been created for a real phony political hack, Rick Perry, who supported ultimate RINO from NYC (the capital of liberalism), Rudy Giuliani, then joined with Rudy to back McCain. Is that what you want? I would support Palin, Bachmann, Cain, or any other real conservative.

Having policy disagreements with/about any candidate is germane to the discussion. You, however, have specialized in recycling well worn and thoroughly discredited ‘charges’ against Sarah Palin. That tactic will never elevate your candidate, Herman Cain. Your PDS digs could easily end up having the opposite effect from what you desire.

I definitely do not support Mitt Romney.

You definitely despise Palin and her social conservatism, she is also the only real threat to Romney, you being a pro-gay, social liberal, I find it suspicious that you join so many other anti-Palin/pro Romney supporters that have suddenly embraced advancing the aggressively anti homosexual agenda person, Michelle Bachmann.

Can you post links to them?

They're all over the place. Many FReepers are pissed because Bachmann isn't harpooning her Republican opponents (as Rollins did to Palin last week).

Quite frankly, it's bad strategy at this point since we should be focused on defeating Obama instead of candidates bickering among themselves.

Anyone who might be a threat to Palin or keep her from running (like Perry) is getting it on FR right now. Palin could solve it all by announcing. If she was an announced candidate I’m 99% certain Bachmann would not have run. And Perry wouldn’t be thinking about it. But as long as Palin stays on the sidelines, others will jump in.

I’ve been noticing the plethora of negative posts about various candidates and some non-candidates, as well.

The fact is that ALL these candidates have something positive to add to the Republican primary (except maybe, Mitt Romney, who just isn’t reliably conservative). During the primary, it is more important to sell people (independents) on the Republican brand as opposed to Obama, than to sell them on the individual candidate that the Republicans will choose, because eventually, we will make that decision and this time around, I would like to see US make the decision not the press.

The point is, we shouldn’t be making it easier for the press by attacking our own. They all have something to offer and by focusing on what we LIKE about the candidate, instead of what we don’t like, we have an opportunity to push the whole group in that direction. Force Romney to the right, force Cain to the right on abortion, force all of the candidates on free trade and against Obamacare.
