Governor Perry backed thrice-married dress-wearing pro-choice lapsed Catholic Rudy Giuliani, on the theory that Rudy would be a badass commander-in-chief abroad and a reliable constitutionalist at home

See it on video here

Yes. I watched a video clip about Perry endorsing “America’s Mayor.”

In it Perry made these points about Guiliani:

“Homeland security is not border security”

“Make choices for country at war.”

“Offers a better vision than another Clinton presidency”

Combat - “runaway taxation and open up path to growth”

“Prosecuting criminals and bring them to justice”

“Lowered taxes, increased growth, privatized and deregulated bureaucracy”

Gov. Perry chose to bypass the legislature and on Feb. 2, 2007, he issued an executive order

And the legislative part of Texas Government immediately passed legislation voiding his EO. Perry could have vetoed the legislation but he didn’t.

Attend as many funerals as Rudy Giuliani has and then we’ll talk.

Perry, Palin, Bachmann, Cain

As I see it these are the choices if Romney is to be denied the Republican nomination. And the two of these with the most experience haven’t announced (yet.)

The rest, Pawlenty, Santorum, Paul, Guiliani, Johnson, have one hell of a hill to climb to get the nomination.

Ironically, Ryan could probably have it just by asking for it.

But we’re still back to Perry, Palin, Bachmann, and Cain and if we don’t sort that out, we’re going to be stuck with Romney. So, how’s it going to go?

Yeah, but there's also his Convergen problem. I'm putting together some nice pretty stuff on that one. I'll have it ready for next time.

Rick Perry shouldn't be running for President of anything but his CELL BLOCK in 2012

Oh, is that the criteria by which we choose presidential candidates? By how many funerals they’ve gone to? Why didn’t you say so? I know some undertakers who would be a shoe in!

........So, how’s it going to go?

The million dollar question.

I think Perry will change the dynamic a lot. Once his entrance has happened and the MSM start their attacks (already started here on FR) we can see how it energizes or demoralizes the others in the field. I have no clue how Palin will factor in (big movie coming out) but I have no doubts that this will be a primary to remember.

We can't wait. You're so predictable.

It's not Rick Perry's words that are the problem. His words are great. It's his actions that are the problem. Like funneling $4.5M to a political donor through Convergen.

If any of us did this, we'd be in prison. But we're supposed to not only ignore this but PROMOTE the guy to POTUS?? Heck no.

Rick Perry is a crook.

Rick Perry is a crook.

Sarah Palin endorsed Perry.

Sarah Palin endorses crooks?

Is that your message?

He didn't because he would have been overridden. That's irrelevant to the real problem though, which is Rick Perry taking money from Merck and then mandating the use of their product. Not only is this corruption, but it shows him to be willing to use the force of government for his own personal gain.

Can you really honestly say that these are the actions of a man we want anywhere near the White House? Especially in these serious times?

Taken directly from the article you linked to:

“The governor and his spokeswoman have defended the Convergen award as proper and offered a variety of reasons why it was not the result of favoritism.”

I assume you have a lot more links to follow...

Stop smearing Sarah Palin with Rick Perry’s slime. She endorsed him for governor of Texas against Kay Bailey Hutchison and in the general election against Bill White. She hasn’t endorsed him for the highest office in the land.

Are you actually making the case that corruption should be excused because Sarah Palin endorsed someone?

Sarah Palin also endorsed McCain. Will you be posting fawning posts in favor of McCain 2012 because of that?

Again with the words. We’re supposed to just take Rick Perry’s word for everything when action after action says that he’s corrupt as the day is long.

How can you possibly excuse these things? Read up a bit more on the Convergen case. It’s not quite as bad as Gardasil where he tried to use the power of government to force people to use a product made by a company that supported him financially, but it’s still a pretty ugly case.

If he did something illegal, why isn’t he in jail?

Why waste your time repeating this ‘till you’re blue in the face? You should talk to Attorney General Eric Holder “perfect_rovian_storm” and see if you can put him in jail.

I’m sure Obama would like to have Rick Perry in jail and not on the campaign trail running against him, just like you do.

If Rick Perry did something illegal, why did Sarah Palin campaign for him?

Oh, snap! Rudy praised Sarah! Well, that changes everything! It totally gets him off the hook for his shockingly liberal past.

Everyone put their party dress on and head down to the abortion clinic for the kickoff of Rudy 2012. I used to have a problem with his record, but since he praised Sarah, he’s our guy!!!!
