Do you remember this one?

:>)

A blast from the past. Most of the pics were taken down in some kind of infringement suit.

Of course...who could forget those...lol

It didn’t get the play at the time, but the Kerry bunny ears pic was way worse than the Dukakis tank pic.

Thank you for your back ground info on Huntsman.

Your quote “I posted a brief summary on my feelings on each candidate”.

Why not post their records as you do with other people?

“Well, it's difficult to post book-long posts about each candidate. Nor is it really necessary”.

Perusing the Perry threads, you don't seem to have an issue posting “book-long” threads.

My only issue is fairness. The candidates we have at this point have issues. You are very knowledgeable. Why not post the good as well as the bad and share that knowledge?

Fairness? That’s Obama-talk, my FRiend.

Can you name for me any other candidate that has anything even CLOSE to the ethics issues that Rick Perry has? If you can, I’m all ears and I’ll be the first to join you in banishing that candidate from the list of viable Republican candidates.

There’s no perfect person and no perfect candidate. That doesn’t mean we need to accept the unacceptable.

Fairness is not Obama talk, my FRiend.

The point I am trying to make is that you fail to post the negatives on the declared candidates. They all have negatives. They are POLITICIANS. So there is no perfect candidate. They all have history ..even Cain with his association and defense of the Federal Reserve.

Perry is no better or worse than the rest. Do I think he should run? Nah. But not for the reasons you state. He has been in office for 10 years. Who in public office doesn’t accumulate misteps in that period of time. Check out and post Pawlenty’s record in a similar, but shorter period of time.

I am a Texan. Actually, I would love all presidents to be from Texas. But most of the country does not.

I don’t think he will run...and I’m not sure Sarah will.

Yeah, they all have negatives. But they didn’t all take money from a corporation and then try and force citizens through the force of government to use a product made by that corporation, now did they?

No better or worse? Who did anything comparable to the above? Please be specific.

Sarah Palin had a bad interview with Katie Couric. Is that the same as funneling money to a fake company owned by a donor like Rick Perry did with Convergen? How about the TTC contributions?

Let’s REALLY take an HONEST look at just how many other candidates in this race have these kind of ethical questions about them. PLEASE, let’s do that.

I am a very honest person.

Since I am not trying to pimp a candidate, or take one down...in my opinion..it is up to you to provide a defense. I haven’t seen that happen yet.

If you believe any of the declared canditates don’t participate in bribes...I regret the loss of the loss of your innocence.

You seem to be a Sarah suppoter. So am I. But she is not “perfect”either.

Well, I’m sorry to say that just because you proclaim yourself neutral doesn’t mean that I’m a trained seal here to do tricks for you and teach you about candidates.

You seem to think that the other candidates take bribes. I’m not asking for ‘proof’ like internet trolls do. I’m asking for you to make a case. Make a case that any other candidate in this race has taken bribes. PLEASE. SHOW ME. MAKE THE CASE. Show me where Palin has taken money from and done the bidding of a corporation. The same for Pawlenty, Bachmann, Cain, etc.

That’s a pretty brutal collection of comments at the end of the article.

Is that a liberal publication or is Perry just much more unpopular than non-Texans realize?

We used to have 2 newspapers in Houston, The Houston Chronicle (AM) that was the conservative paper and the Houston Post (PM) which was the liberal rag. In 1995 the Post was “absorbed” by the Chronicle and it morphed into the Post. Like most all media in metro areas, it advocates the Democrat Party line in order to grow government and make Conservatism look bad. This is no different. Also this “Jay Root” is an AP reporter.

Thanks....I haven’t been to Houston for years and rarely read any newspaper articles from there online.

Palin endorsed Rick because he was in troubke and could have lost to worse candidates. He was the lesser of the evils.

ABO voteres, of which I am one, plan to follow that logic in 2012 and will get flamed for it. Sarah Palin, however, is excused for it.

Go figure.

Well said. Don't forget they are the wind beneath her wings and she was there first and she owns the tea party and all others are libs when they endorse Romney or Perry but Sarah. She has now turned into a goddess to them plain and simple.Oh and she has a secret plan only they know about. It is quite childish and cultish.

I am happy that a tea party candidate is up there in the polls and Obamaney Care is political burnt toast that can't be scraped off for any comeback. Go Bachmann!

Who would you prefer if it comes down to Perry vs. Romney?

Obviously Perry, but let's just hope that scenario doesn't happen.

I agree completely, thanks for the reply. Personally, I like Palin and Bachmann but realize they face formidable odds.

I apologize for the tardiness of my reply..and also for giving any perception that I thought you were a trained seal.

That is not the case at all. I do my own research and although I appreciate your knowledge, I would never take it at face value. It was interesting to me that you seem to be on a mission against Perry and did such research on somebody that hasn’t declared.

I would not post the negatives of each candidate because I would be perceived as negative to the whole field, which I am not. I do my research and realize there will be negatives as well as positives. I try to take the good with the bad. In fact, both Santorum and Pawlenty have had issues with “bribes” i.e. political contributions. I’m sure the Freepers from Michigan and Pa could shed more light on this. Both were legal...as were Perry’s political contributions. Both did some very positive things in their careers.

No one is spotless in politics. It is what it is. You may feel free to call me a cynic if you like.

I will be interested to see if Perry and Palin at some time join forces. I don’t see that out of the realm of possibility. Both govs of big successful states with similar philosophies.

But since neither has declared..it is a moot point.
