I have plenty of issues with the GOP...
...but Trump is the ultimate self-aggrandizing ass.
Boldly spineless.
But he thinks it can last with a Republican who doesn't think we can cut any program at all ... because after all, people rely on those handouts, or they're employees of that agency ...
And why does he imagine a Democrat-lite can be elected, anyway. (See McCain, John, Sen.) Democrats would rather vote for a Democrat.
When they tamper with Medicare which happens to be a good program, but theres lots of fraud and waste which we should take care of but when they tamper with Medicare, they have a death wish, Trump said.
This just proves the we are better off with Trump out of the race. It just shows his ignorance. If you don’t “tamper with medicare” it won’t be around to be “a good program”!
Sheesh!
If we mess with medicare, we're toast.
I would estimate that nearly 70% of the people I met at the Tea Party rallies (in my area, I can't speak for the entire country) were old folks there because their were afraid Obamacare would somehow threaten their medicare they love (remember their were suppose to be like 100 million or billion in cuts to it included in the healthcare package)
Get rid of fraud and waste and the Medicare issue is solved!! Why didn't Ryan think of that????
Trump is even more stupid than I thought if he thinks waste and fraud will solve the Medicare funding problem. And if he is indicative of the "elites" of our country, we are screwed. It really is time for a revolution.
Publicity whore.
Trump is a good guy. He detests spoiler Romney.
Trump demands a real birth certificate.
What is the problem with either?
And I am not saying nothing should be done, I am just saying it is political suicide to run on it.
If what you say is indicative of the the Tea Parties around the country, we all might as well pack it in. We are doomed. If people really think our entitlement programs can go on untouched, or by getting rid of “waste and fraud” or by a tax increase on the “rich,” there is no hope and I’m moving to the hills with a lot of canned food and ammunition.
Trump’s lifelong record of crony-capitalist limousine liberalism makes Romney look like Cal Coolidge by comparison.
I tend to agree with Trump.
Outsourcing US jobs had driven a lot of people out of work. There is very real fear among Americans. Healthcare can destroy families.
There are far more important issues with far broader support the GOP should be running on. For example: JOBS.
Trump’s right on this.
Medicare Loses Nearly Four Times as Much Money as Health Insurers Make

heckava a program, Donny !

Nothing. Those are both fine positions. The problem is that he is a moderate to liberal idiot on most major policy issues and continues to prove it by his repeated statements which never ever ever ever ever address the issue of big government. Probably because he has made most of his money jumping in the sack with big government.
Other than that, he’s a GREAT potential President.
$60 billion has been the estimate for annual Medicare fraud for a while now, and not much is being done to stop it.
Somebody needs to think about it. Our recent presidents have been about as concerned about medicare fraud as they've been concerned about border security.
It's politically toxic, no doubt about it. It is quite possible that these entitlements will just have to die on the vine because any attempt at reform is currently adamantly opposed by most seasoned citizens.
Still, Trump the chameleon isn't helping any. First Donald the Clown proves he is absolutely spineless. Afterall, wasn't he babbling about telling the truth and making the tough decisions. Well, Medicare is going broke and if it isn't reformed it's going to go bankrupt and be gone anyway. Second, Trump is literally giving the media ammunition to run stories about how terrible the Republican Medicare reforms are. Trump is intentionally helping destroy the Republican House majority - all to keep his name in the political news.
Trump has been nothing but bad news. Trump is all about Trump and nothing else. What he is doing now is effectively waging a campaign against the very Ryan plan almost all our Representatives and Senators had the guts to vote for. No conservative should have ever been supporting this clown and those that did should feel embarrassed and ashamed for having ever been fooled by him.
Medicare is a form of government-run socialized medicine. I wish there never was a Medicare--or Social Security--since both wealth-redistribution schemes are unconstitutional. But the political reality is, we are stuck with them for the foreseeable future. And there need to be some serious changes--age of eligibility chief among them--in order for the programs to be financially viable.
If I could wave a magic wand, the best long-term solution would be to phase out both Medicare and Social Security gradually and as equitably as possible.
Unfortunately perception matters way too much in politics. While Trump is a moron for saying Medicare is a good program, he’s somewhat correct in that making major changes to it is a difficult sell to the average, dumb American because they are so gullible to the lying, dirty campaign tactics of democrats.

In the Ryan plan, what happens to Medicare for people currently age 55 and over?
