I can assure you that FR will never be a Rooty site. There was a pretty large purge of long-time regulars here back in 2008 when his candidacy exposed a serious rift in the GOP.
I'm sure it's only a matter of time before William Kristol or some other "neo-conservative" jack@ss comes out and starts pushing an unbeatable GOP ticket of Rudy Giuliani and Joe Lieberman for 2012. LOL.

I like Rudy. Let the bull$hit begin with the road to the White house and may the best woman win!

I like Rudy too, but his angry son, shoplifting daughter and three marriages won’t sit well in a national election.

Surely Rudy knows he has no chance after 2008, and I do think he felt screwed by the Mittster. Whether he felt screwed enough to help Palin, who is pretty far on the other side of most issues than he is, is debatable. But I’d welcome him in the NH race if he weakens Mitt.

I've got no use for either one. But if you held a gun to my head, I'd pick Romney over Rooty because he at least has a religion and can control his schlong.
Either would be a vast improvement over ObaMao. But so would the oak tree in my front yard.

I gotta give credit to a former Freeper named "George W. Bush" (yes, that was his screen name), who posted this classic gem back in 2006 when Giuliani was being pushed as a great presidential candidate:
"He is, at best, the solution to problems the rest of us don't have."

I like RudyDon't say that too loud, too often or too strongly around here or you won't make your ten-year anniversary. But he certainly is a more acceptable RINO, if there is such a thing, than Romney who has changed his stripes more often than the cat in Alice's tree. I can see Rudy and Sarah getting along -- they both have courage and have been tested in ways that most of us would fail.

No it is not! Rudy and Romney can have their cat fight elsewhere! There will be no campaign for abortionist liberals on FR!

I believe that Rudy may be a stalking horse, it may sound strange but his comments over the past few months seem to be that he despises Romney and really respect......ahem* Palin. Who knows!I doubt Rudy or anyone else would get in the race just to weaken another candidate, but seriously, do we really want to play these games?
Rudy is really not much of a conservative. Economics, foreign policy, defense, he is probably fine. Unfortunately, his liberalism/libertarianism on social issues is a terrible weakness. We need a candidate that can unite economic and social conservatives. Alienate social conservatives and we will not win in 2012. Giuliani is simply not an acceptable candidate.
To: CaptainK
Unfortunately, I thin the “short, bald, lisping Italian-American New Yorker with glasses” thing would have rendered him completely unelectable even if he were totally solid on all the issues.

I like Rudy. What do you like best about him:
His pro-homosexual agenda support or his anti 2nd Amendment stance?

Palin hasnt even entered the race.Which does not mean she will not run. Romney is talking himself out of the party core, and Sarah doesn't have to pay one cent to do it.

Let's see - pro-abortion to the point of getting an award from NARAL.
Anti-gun to the point of addressing a Brady rally.
Pro-AGW.
Authoritarian control freak.
Pro-gay.
What could possibly go wrong? /Sarcasm with a capital 'S'.

That is good to hear. I was starting to worry. Rooty is no asset to anybody. We went through all of that before.
He won’t gain any traction this time either.
