Diaz has been a rock on this issue. Any idea where the vote stands now? Last I heard our side was up one.

You can always tell when Satan is behind something - his minions attack mindlessly because they hate anything of the true God. Queers, muslims, BDS, PDS - all the hate has the same ultimate target and the same root cause.

Not sure. From what I understand, Cuomo will not put this to the vote - UNLESS - he is certain there are enough to get it passed. There has not been much coverage this week in the local media; I take that as a positive. In the meantime, I'm sure Senator Diaz would appreciate a message of support.

I never did care for Lot, the supposedly religious man, prostituting his daughters. Sacrificing himself I could understand. But giving his daughters to the crowd to “do to them whatever you like” doesn’t sound righteous to me.

Sounds cowardly.

Lot was a jerk. Many of us are, but that does not mean we are not righteous before God as far as our sins being covered. Other that that, Lot was not a great person. I mean, what was he doing living in Sodom in the first place, if the entire city was immoral?

It explains it a few verses earlier, where his uncle Abraham give Lot a choice of which land he wanted, and Lot decided to take the prosperous and beautiful area - the heck with it that it was a totally heathen area where young and old had no problem raping a bunch of male strangers- and left Abe living in the caves with the less desirable land, but without the rotten culture at his door.

As far as examples go, it's also a great example of what happens when you try to placate the ungodly - a great example for us! They just get angry (how dare he judge them), they plan to kill him, threaten him and attack him. Their sin just gets worse as they fill with rage (more parallels to the previous article - we sound more and more like S&G every day.)

Because he is such a fool, Lot ends up losing his wife and his home. His daughters with their obvious lack of morality and teaching get him drunk and commit incest. It's just one nasty family - with the comparison to Abram. But his sins are covered because he is a worshipper of the true God.

So you see, you are NOT supposed to like Lot! He's just an example of God's grace.

An interesting side is that Lot is an Muslim prophet. The Christian bible simply says he was righteous before God, which Christians know merely means he had faith in the one true God through faith, not works. But the Islamists go farther, saying the Koran says Lot was right in telling the mob to take the women, because the male thing was sinful. In essence, a works religion - to be right before God, you must be perfect, something Christians believe not possible.

They also say Lot meant for the women to be married to the mob (is that really any kinder than letting them rape the girls?) and also that they don't think the girls were his real daughters, anyway.

It's almost a microcosm of the differences between Christianity and Islam. And a very interesting story.
