In his combination of unctuousness, mendacity, mock-reasonableness, petulance, bullying, hypocrisy, overweening arrogance, brazen aggression, self-pity, victimhood, and bogus moral preening, it’s hard to beat Congressman Anthony Weiner. He’s the perfect face of the modern American Left in all its glorious pathology; why anyone takes these people seriously is utterly beyond me, so transparent are they. And yet for some, their sweet nothings continue to resonate.
Here he is with ABC’s Jonathan Karl, doing what lefties do best: lie, equivocate, lecture, browbeat, and implicitly threaten, even when they’re caught red-handed:

I mean, how hard was it to see through Tony Weiner? Or an even worse mountebank, John Edwards, who positively oozed phoniness from every pore — and yet somehow wound up on the Democratic ticket as the sidekick to another pretentious poseur, John Kerry? ............
By comparison, a genial snake-oil salesman like Bill Clinton comes off as a somewhat lovable rogue, if you don’t count the cost to the nation of his perjury and its continuing repercussions. The country is paying a heavy price for the media’s childish celebration of what a good liar Clinton was — the problem is that much less good liars have proliferated in his wake.

I can stand arrogance, but condescension just makes me want to puke.
Weiner used all the muscle he could muster to inimidate one of Glenn Beck’s sponsors, Goldline. He failed, but his despicable attempt should have cost him his job.

Rush just made the same point in his opening monologue, but pointed out the Congressman Phallus's voting record.
I find the most sickening and scary thing is this clown is NOT going to resign. But, this just gives the Right a new poster boy for what is wrong with Washington DC.
I never understood how so many people thought that a politician from the Chicago farm team (and his buddies) was going to bring hope and change to America.....

We might ask the same question of the Iowegians who supported Johnny Edwards.
It seems to me that when the uber-obnoxious Alan Grayson (D-Orlando,FL) was defeated in 2010, his mantle of rabid attack settled upon both Weiner and Grayson’s fellow Florida Democrat, Debbie Wasserman-Schutz (D-Miami,FL). Weiner always reminded me of a “Uriah Heep” kind of character, being arrogantly proud of his humbleness and vice-versa. This downfall comes from just such egotistical arrogance and bears a strong resemblance to that of his former boss, Senator Chuck Schumer.
Weiner not resigning? The humor possibilities are too rich! Just think, anytime you want to protest anything he does, just carry a sign that says “me” with an arrow. I mean, they could almost pull that off on the House floor! Weiner up at the podium bloviating? Hold up a piece of paper that says “me”.
Proves.....like ALL of history.....that character matters....and is determined by what you do in private.
People with no character will sell everyone down the river for a price.
All Democrats have been selling out this greatest country in history of the world....for power, prestige and money. They are nothing but evil.
They have tried to convince us (oral sex/Clinton/Frank’s bordello) that destructive behavior does NOT matter as long as it is done in PRIVATE. IT is a LIE.
Homosexual behavior is being sold as “good” although it develops a sick, dehumanizing behavior that is nothing but lust and selfishness. Habituation of virtue is what makes a person of “good character”. You can never be virtuous if you practice behavior that dehumanizes, causes disease, and otherwise, diminishes human worth to a design that is unnatural.
They are redefining Good and Evil...as all good Marxists do.....so that our society becomes like the chaos of the Republic of Rome in all their incest, pederasty and orgies....so of course, we are susceptible to a takeover.
All Founders knew that you can never be FREE if there is no virtuous people. Virtue as described by the Bible, of course....not some marxist who thinks he is god.

For the moment, the ideological heirs of those that believe the flames of liberty must be extinguished and the aspirations of the individual curtailed for the alleged good of humanity have grown more sophisticated in their methods of getting the people to comply with their agenda. However, as Americans draw ever closer to the breaking point of just how much they are willing to put up with as frankly we are fast approaching the threshold where there is precious little left for the state to steal, we must ask with concern: will the aspiring despots among us resort to the violent tendencies of their philosophical progenitors in the attempt to bring about socialism’s ultimate triumph?
