Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-NY) doled out his first apologies to his wife and his constituents, but also apologized to the media and to Andrew Breitbart specifically during a long and rambling press conference in which he seemed determined to answer every last reporter’s question.
Breitbart had demanded an apology a few minutes before from the same podium, where he climbed after Weiner did not show up on time to his own press conference.
“I’d like an apology from him,” Breitbart said. “This was his strategy, to blame me…so I’m here for some vindication.”
Breitbart said he lost his Memorial Day weekend to fending off accusations that he had been the one to hack Weiner’s Twitter account, after Weiner tried to distance himself from the lewd tweet that appeared there – and was later picked up by Breitbart’s website – by claiming he had been hacked.
He claimed to have one more photo that he would not release because it was too vulgar.
“I’m trying to do the decent thing here and not release the photo,” he said, hinting that such restraint might be tested if Weiner continued to suggest he had been hacked, allowing his supporters to continue to cast blame on Breitbart.
Weiner chose a strategy of total media prostration – though he was firm in his refusal to resign.
“I don’t know what I was thinking,” he said. “This was destructive thing to do. I apologize for doing it.”
After being asked several times, he apologized directly to the media, and to the man who had unexpectedly served as his warm-up act.
“I apologize to Andrew Breitbart,” Weiner said.

I suspect that volcano temperature heat was being put on him by Hillary and Schumer. Hillary did NOT want her friend Huma being dragged into a public discussion.

Great Observation! The first thing I noticed was how I couldn't find any reference to the apology in online reports of the press conference. They want to bury that part of it. Breitbart is KING today, and it's driving them nuts. Weiner will pay for that.
I notice they all say Brietbart “hijacked” the news conference, then they follow up by saying the press asked him to answer some questions, but on their “news reports” they never show Brietbart answering questions and they sure as heck don’t show him calling the press on the carpet and asking them to name ONE LIE he has reported.

We need to apply a lot of pressure to Rep. Weiner to resign from his position as a United States Congressman. He has devalued his position, boldfaced lied on national television, and aired his dirty shorts in the public square! This is the most unbecoming behavior of a Congressman or any person elected to office. We must not allow this to be minimized or swept under a rug!
Weiner refuses to resign stating”he does not believe he broke or violated any laws or the Constitution”. He also does does not believe he used any government resources while sending various photos and otherwise having inappropriate relationships with women. However, there are allegations he did have erotic sex talk with a woman on the phone in his office. It’s clear Rep. Weiner cannot be trusted and has little moral fiber or character.

Wish someone had asked Wiener how far he was prepared to let his lie go. Would he have let Breitbart be shut down? Formally investigated? Indicted?
And where are the apologies to Breitbart from the media and political hacks who eagerly took Wiener’s bait? Their slime trail is still rather fresh...
As for the “I didn’t use any government property” schtick, HE USED HIS TITLE. These women weren’t tweeting “Tony Wiener, Just Some Guy...Not The Congressman”...it was clear he was THAT Anthony Wiener. The title is government property, and anyone doubting it should try calling themselves a congressman and see how that works out.
