Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-NY) doled out his first apologies to his wife and his constituents, but also apologized to the media and to Andrew Breitbart specifically during a long and rambling press conference in which he seemed determined to answer every last reporter’s question.
Breitbart had demanded an apology a few minutes before from the same podium, where he climbed after Weiner did not show up on time to his own press conference.
“I’d like an apology from him,” Breitbart said. “This was his strategy, to blame me…so I’m here for some vindication.”
Breitbart said he lost his Memorial Day weekend to fending off accusations that he had been the one to hack Weiner’s Twitter account, after Weiner tried to distance himself from the lewd tweet that appeared there – and was later picked up by Breitbart’s website – by claiming he had been hacked.
He claimed to have one more photo that he would not release because it was too vulgar.
“I’m trying to do the decent thing here and not release the photo,” he said, hinting that such restraint might be tested if Weiner continued to suggest he had been hacked, allowing his supporters to continue to cast blame on Breitbart.
Weiner chose a strategy of total media prostration – though he was firm in his refusal to resign.
“I don’t know what I was thinking,” he said. “This was destructive thing to do. I apologize for doing it.”
After being asked several times, he apologized directly to the media, and to the man who had unexpectedly served as his warm-up act.
“I apologize to Andrew Breitbart,” Weiner said.
Breitbart should have told him to put mustard on that apology and shove it up his backside.
The media will not hound Breitbart incessantly. They thought they had him on the ropes only to be found holding nothing but air when more evidence came forth. They will not be a happy bunch until they do something to set him up for this.
Not a good day for the media...first off Palin is shown to be right and they wrong about Paul Revere and now they have been found attacking Breitbart for what was an honest bit of reporting. If the hotdog had been a pubbie and the exposer a liberal hack, they would be warming up the Pulitzer for them right now.
I watch the entire press conference and I did not hear an apology to Andy. Transcript please.

I did not hear the whole press conference, and kept wondering during that which I did hear, whether anyone asked him about his ability to be blackmailed because of his actions? Breitbart, thankfully, on Hannity’s show, made a big point of this. Did the MSM forget about this crucial aspect of his actions or did they cover it?
Weiner is a little rat faced nasty partisan weasel. After this press conference. I hope he ends up broke, divorced and out on the street.

Are you serious? This will make him more popular in HIS district. MA did not fire Kennedy for murdering a woman. MA did not fire Frank for running a gay brothel out of his apartment in DC. Why would one of the most liberal districts in liberal NY be alarmed at a little wiener?

America has gone away, we’ve lost our sense of dignity, responsibility and honor and that is why little wormy perverts like Weiner get the spotlight and the upcoming defense of him by the left wing scum media. To hell with all DemocRATS, they have nothing to say and nothing to contribute so let us turn our backs on their filth and elect a truly honorable person for President. Their time is up, especially the media and their evil doings. We can now take back our Country and not worry about what some lefties think or say!
