A Boisterous Night at Walter Reed! Week 320, June 3, 2011
June 6, 2011 | Kburi

Posted on 06/06/2011 7:35:13 AM PDT by kburi

Tonight’s summary is based on comments by Mrs Trooprally.

Tonight, VictoryNY and TammyCat led the cheers and waves with high enthusiasm. Lurker Bill got vocal and soon all four corners were impacting passing cars.
All night long, cars were loudly honking and passengers waved or shouted their support back. We are beginning to notice more and more soldiers in uniform driving or walking off the post. Almost all return our waves or yell their support.

TacoMomma and Danang68 came from Virginia and spent the evening with us. Our last night at Walter Reed is tentatively July 22. (This will be Week 327) So if you plan to make one or more of the last Friday nights, please mark your calendars and make your plans to join us.

The weather was just right and the MOAB was back where it should be; right across from WR’s front entrance where everybody leaving Walter Reed will see it.

There were three buses tonight all of which were full. Waving them into Walter Reed was the perfect ending to a great night.

Hey, it would appear that RonG is competing with Troop for the “Leggs” title.

Just got to FR for the first time today...

My favorite report was waiting for me!

Thank you all for being there representing some of the best work of FR.

I hope to see you right after the Fourth of July and finish out the final weeks with you!

Hey big guy (jw)!
Always good to hear from a new poster and north carolinian.
I’ve lived 11 yrs in NC, 4 in WS at WFU, 1 in fayettenam with the 82nd, and 6 after the service with the real Wachovia in WS and Charlotte. (1969 to 1975)

We do OBX for vacations. Love carolina!

yep the moonbats still are there but are a weak replacement for the original code pink and and anti war poc’s which caught the DC Chapter of Free Republic and Protest Warriors eye. Once we capturedall four corners of the front gate
they disappeared and were replaced by union members way down the block.

Our 6 year plus commitment of 320 plus consecutiveFriday nights is tentatively scheduled to end at the end of July.

Cheers and thanks for the comment

Kburi

Where do you like to go on the OBX?

We try to hit the Buxton area in the fall for some surf fishing, but have been unable to go for the last two years.

Hoping to get a Scouting contingent to Oregon Inlet this fall.

Out,
jw

There won’t be any more Friday Nights at Walter Reed after July?

How sad...but all of you have done a magnificent job of making
those wounded warriors feel proud of the job they did when
in the line of fire.

I was there once and will never forget it or all of you that
were there. Such enthusiasm and love of the troops is rare!

Late for the party but finally made it here. Thanks for posting, looks good, especially the buses. 3 buses sure sparked the enthusiasm of us patriots. I think that was a first.

So long as Rong keeps his legs covered with his sign, there is no competition. There were so many FReepers there this night that I never made it to my regular NW corner. Fraxinus, Jim and Danang68 had it well covered.

Real good to see you on FR. We are holding down the corners for you and all the “old” regulars who can’t make it. WR is coming to a close soon but you are one of the icons of past FReeps. Thanks for all you did when you were there.

I remember one rainy evening where you spent most of your time covering our signs with plastic wrap to keep them dry.

"Three moonbats tonight."

Would love to see their orders, "free Soros housing as long as 3 show up".

Sorry to take so long to acknowledge your post. Been away from home for a couple of days. Yeah, I noticed that Ron was not so eager to expose his legs as you, therefore you are still king of the leggs.
