It's interesting -- the stark variations in scrutiny the "mainstream" media give Republicans vs. Democrats.
The media have shown precious little interest over the years in Barack Obama's background or the people he associates with. Yet, they were so eager to find dirt on President George W. Bush that they ran with obviously forged documents concerning his National Guard service. And, of course, a writer famously took up residence near the Palins to spy on them.
CNN's John King recently grilled potential presidential candidate Michele Bachmann on a fundraising letter of hers. The left-wing media are all over Newt Gingrich over his bill at Tiffany's.
And knowing the media's thirst for all dirt that is Republican, the Obama re-election machine is digging for dirt against New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie -- even though Christie isn't even a candidate.
Given all that, it's not surprising -- alarming, maybe, but not surprising -- that almost no attention is being paid to a report that Mr. Obama is working on imposing gun control measures on Americans "under the radar" -- according to gun control advocate Sarah Brady.
That would really be something: toying with the Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms without so much as a how-do-you-do to the legislative branch of the government. Then again, the Obama administration has already taken executive action to declare carbon dioxide a pollutant, in order to regulate emissions of it -- despite no such action from Congress.
What else is this administration doing "under the radar" and without assent from the branch of government assigned under the Constitution with making the laws? And when will lawmakers in Congress -- yes, even Democrats -- wake up to the quiet but profound imbalance in the balance of powers between branches of government that this administration is putting in place?
This administration is attempting more and more to rule by fiat -- and the Fourth Estate has almost zero interest in it.
Gun owners and other patriots might.

Obama's plan on GUNRUNNER was to dump guns into Mexico and then hammer gun manufacturers and gun distributors. After that, he was sending his thugs to get your guns.

Most likely, they are working on ways to circumvent all of the Constitution, not just the second amendment.
For example, how will a ruling that Obamacare is somehow Constitutional under the left’s Swiss army knife – the Interstate commerce Clause - bear on the commerce wholly within a state when you’re buying a firearm privately?

This admin wants us to shoot first. The Giffords shooting, Fort Hood and the rest have all been either progressive or muslim jihadist activity. We do have to be smart and not resort to violence. If they start f’n with the 2nd amendment and try to disarm us then thats going to start up something real nasty. First of all, it won’t be “the govt” - they’re not that overt yet - it will be your friendly neighborhood Officer Friendly and his SWAT buddies called in from all over your county, and maybe an F-Trooper or two from ATF for oversight (meaning: to make sure they killed every living thing in the house so there’s no other side of the story).
They just killed a 26 year old decorated Marine a few weeks back in a 4am flashbang raid, and it was the wrong house. The sheriff in charge of the operation is a Progressive lefty docuhebag. You mentioned the Giffords shooting - this same Sheriff (Dupnik) was DELIBERATLY trying to tie that incident to the TEA Party - and Jared Loughner is one of the left’s Star Protgees - a regular deranged Liberal Poster Child for what happens when you get brainwashed by libs.
They’re looking for ANY excuse - and rest assured, they’ll provide the ignition source when they think they can get away with it.
