Oprah Winfrey ended her famous talk show Wednesday by telling her viewers of 25 years that they weren't saying goodbye. "I won't say goodbye, I'll just say until we meet again," Winfrey said. She hugged and kissed her longtime partner Stedman Graham and shook hands with audience members before walking through the halls of Harpo Studios in Chicago, hugging and crying with her staff. Winfrey shouted "We did it!" The last shot of the finale showed Winfrey walking away with her cocker spaniel, Sadie.

So that means there’s one less excuse NOT to do the housework?
Is that supposed to represent 25 years ago?
FINALLY. Wasn’t it at least two years ago that she made her initial announcement about leaving?
You might say she’s outgrown the small screen.
I’ll tell you this: I do not agree with much of what Oprah appears to believe, politically or culturally.
But tomorrow, if her entire life just fell apart, she’d probably pick herself up and begin all over again.
I admire that.
Her program, though my wife loves it, makes me want to run for the castor oil. Ugh.
Years too late. Now what kind of new crap are they going to replace her with? Please, no more talk shows with a bunch of women sitting around yapping.
I’ve yet to watch my first Oprah show. I see no reason to start now.
Did she announce her lesbianism, as the tabloids claimed she would?
it’s about time! retire already willya?
DITTOS.
Okra ain't my type. On or off screen. . . .
25 years ago, in 1986, in the middle of the Reagan years, a black actress started a daytime talk show and became a billionaire as a result.
Is that because white audiences are racist?
The fact that Oprah Winfrey had a show on TV for 25 years that consistantly was highly rated, highly awarded, and became a cultural touchstone is evidence that we already live in a post-racial America.
Oprah had a TV show?
She’s outgrown IMAX.
Proud to say, I never saw a minute of it.
25 years of an hour long program on 5 days per week?
What percentage, is the 12 full seconds I’ve tuned in, of all those hours?
Still, way too much.
Never saw a single show. I did see a parody of the “manic Tom Cruise” show, but that’s it.
I love Sam Rockwell.
There fixed it.
I’m glad to see the last of the Harpo Brothers retire. They all had a long and happy career.
Barney Frank's Celebrity Hot Tub Party.
I can proudly say i have never seen a Oprah show!!!! Buh Bye!
And I never watched a single episode.
FAT DYKE Alert.
I tend to agree. I never had any interest in Oprah’s show or her opinions, but I admire her business acumen and her tenacity.
I'm more careful in my channel surfing now!
Won’t change my life one iota.
I’ve taken some flak on FR for saying it, but I think the “Blowprah Effect” was the #1 reason for Baraq getting elected. She redirected the soccer mom vote from Hillary to Baraq. Gave this far left unknown massive credibility.
She's only leaving the current syndicated show on network and switching to her own network on cable.
24 years too late.
One night I was driving her in a town car from the Four Seasons to Love Field where her plane was and it was storming bad. It was like driving through a fire hose. At the 183 and Mockingbird exit a pick-up hydroplaned through the intersection and got smashed by a dump truck. She tapped me on the shoulder and asked me my name. I told her and she asked me if I knew who she was. I told her I did and she said , "good, if we end up standing in line in front of the Golden Gates I want to make sure I know somebody!"
I told her that I would get her to her plane safely and not to worry.
Six months later I met her again at her plane at Love Field, she got off the plane, hugged me, greeted me by name and treated me like an old friend.
I had clients that I drove weekly for a year that never learned my name. That told me everything I need to know about that woman and I wish her best of luck in all her endeavors.
Anyone who has been working for the last 25 years says “who?” “whaa?” “oh, that fat slob?” I put her in the Roseann category.
Well!
Maybe I won’t hate on her so much.
If she dumped the Husseins I’d even say I liked her.
I’ve always found it difficult to catch her show.
In college I was too busy working, hanging out, running around.
As a younger woman, I was at work.
As a somewhat older woman, I was too busy running around w/ kids.
As a middle aged woman, I am WAY too busy working and still running around with kids.
I have NEVER had an entire hour at 3 or 4 p.m. to just sit and watch her. I have tried, but always was interrupted.
Probably for the best — and definitely have been turned off by her politics. I don’t know exactly WHO has been so faithful to her, or has had the time to watch her everyday.
the very same people we are supporting with cable tv and internet, IPhones, housing, food stamps, EBT cards they can cash out, medical and dental care (and gee, no deductibles!)..they can lounge and chow down while we finish up our work and then face the commute home to start the other part of our lives...
What a good story! Thanks for the post!
I had to watch Oprah’s show once as Tina Turner was a guest and I never miss her. But it was only once.

Whatever Oprah was she was ten times the man that Donahue was anyway.
Id love Oprah more if she would just buy me a new house and anew car.
