(Reuters) - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu bluntly told President Barack Obama on Friday his vision for the borders of a future Palestinian state would leave the Jewish state with an "indefensible" frontier.
Netanyahu's remarks after the White House talks underscored how a new U.S. push for Middle East peace had opened one of the deepest divides in years in relations between the United States and close ally Israel.
"Peace based on illusions will crash eventually on the rocks of Middle East reality," an unsmiling Netanyahu told Obama in the Oval Office.

It’ll be interesting to see what kind of reception Obama gets from AIPAC this Sunday. My guess is that it won’t be quite as warm as the one Congress gives to Bibi.

Proposal? Sounded more like another COMMAND from Planet Earth’s Exalted Leader.
The leftmedia will call Netanyahu ‘intransigent’ but reasonable people that know even a little bit about the geography of Israel and the history of ‘Palestinian’ violence against Israel at every turn will realize that Netanyahu is simply being rational and Obama, who isn’t really all that naive, is being devious and, ultimately, making a bad situation much worse. Under the circumstances, Netanyahu was being gracious.
Oh, yes, Obama is so strong on foreign policy since he killed bin laden...NOT. He manages to do the right thing and say “yes” to the raid but two weeks later completely fumbles the Israeli peace process.
I am so glad we FINALLY have a president who knows how to make friends in the Middle East.

It really was an amazingly pointless proposal. It didn't even please the Muslim world. Far from making Obama look the role of World Peacemaker it made him look like a buffoon blowing half baked and unstudied proposals out his ass.

The whole world has gone mad; why does the state of Israel have to give the Palestinians anything? The Palestinians are a fake people..a ploy created by the Arab League...the Palestinian Authority was formed in 64...presumably their charter is take all of Israel. I cannot understand why westerners speak of peace with terrorist groups like Hamas...it’s pure hatred on their part and complete stupidity on our part.

There are few things he could have done to damage his relationship with the black community. This is one. I know several African-Americans (solid Christians, not the J. Wright kind) who like Obie, but they love Israel. Big mistake Obie.

He basically told him in a diplomatic way that his capture of OBL while he supports THE TERRORIST group HAMAS is hypocritical. And that Israel SHALL not accept the 1967 map;a lot has happened in 40 years no way to return to that.
Nothing much has been said about Sen. Mitchell’s leaving last week. I expect he just couldn’t take O’dumbo any longer and didn’t want his good name to be tainted by this BS.

That's not just a smack-down of POTUS, that's and evisceration and direct insult to be viewed by the entire world.
There will be a real war, between armies, in the middle east within a year.
The Islamists are feeling very cocky now and in September the UN will declare them an independent state.
It's likely they will declare it a state along the 1967 borders giving Jerusalem to the Palis.
Bombing, rockets, missiles will begin to fly along with human surges against fences. Israel would HAVE to respond aggressively and undertake a wholesale slaughter of the combatants.
In order not to shame themselves, Syria, Iran...probably Egypt too...will have to intervene or hang from a lamppost in their own village square.
Once that happens all hell breaks lose.
Maybe that's one reason he's no longer there.

I’m telling you people this is all about Obama and the radical Left and the Islamists setting up Israel at the UN.
Following on Obama’s speech, the UN will pass a resolution stating that Israel’s internationally-recognized borders are to be the pre-1967 borders, now that the United States will not stand in the way.
Israel will reject that, and will therefore be in non-compliance with a UN resolution.
The UN will swoop in with Obama and Samantha Power’s “resposibility to protect” established in the Libyan case and order Israel to withdraw all forces and government institutions from the West Bank, Gaza, the Golan Heights and Sinai. If they don’t, Israel will face international sanctions.
If Israel gets out of the occupied territories, the muslims will quickly amass military force on all sides close to all of the major population centers of Israel. The UN will tell Israel they cannot go in and clean out these forces.
The beauty of this plan for Obama and Power is that they get to by-pass the US Congress.
Rand Paul and a handful of others were the only ones to stand up on their hind legs and insist that a UN resolution alone was not legal authority for the Libyan intervention, but the rest of Congress went along with it.
Now they have established the precedent, and they will use it against Israel.
What will our military do when the filth occupying the White House orders them to act against Israel?

I’m loving watching Israel roar in dumbo’s face. They know they have nothing to lose. Netenyahu also knows that this punk puts his pants on one leg at a time as well. He also knows that bambi doesn’t have a pair without his teleprompter and what he thinks is the power and prestige of the United States behind him. For his next act Netenyahu needs to piss on dumbo’s shoe or in his pocket.
