I would campaign door to door for Cain.

If Palin will lose as badly as you consistently state, why do the DNC/Socialist party and their comrades in the old news media continue to attack her more than anyone else?

If Sarah is so bad, would not the opposition promote the idea of her becoming the nominee?

If one watches and listens, the marxist media will tell us who they fear the most by attacking that candidate the most.

PALIN/West 2012
Bolton SoS

Because she’s an easy target.

I like Palin, I really do. I watch her when I can when she’s on TV.

I just think that overcoming general voter disapproval ratings in the 55-65 range is about as hard as winning the Mega Millions.

Heck, we should even ask them why they didn’t support their OWN candidates after they were nominated. You know, like Colin Powell’s and Chuck Hagel’s and Link Chafee’s bolting from McCain to Obama.

Ironically, not so.

It's harder to gain awareness/name recognition than it is to convert an unfavorable attitude to a favorable attitude.

All those unfavorables that Palin has piled up out there also represent awareness. Obviously, most of her unfavorables represent people who are scared to death of her and would never vote for a Republican anyway.

However, her unfavorables among independents and Republicans are largely a creation of adverse media coverage and can be readily reversed. All she has to do is gain exposure as a candidate -- and demonstrate that she's not who they've been told she is.

Understand that the MSM has almost no credibility any longer. They're easy to confront and correct. And a personal appearance by Gov. Palin would immediately alter the media-created misconceptions about her.

The fact tht Palin probably enjoys the highest awareness of any Republican candidate puts her in an extremely favorable position.

I understand what you’re saying....BUT:

The marxist media cannot hit Palin with anything new - they “shot their wad”, so to speak.

Once the GOP candidate is determined, tThe marxist media will ht them with anything and everything - even false accusations.

If Palin is the GOP candidate, she can easily convert the independents with personal appearances, debates and an advertising campaign to “correct the record”.

That Palin has the highest favorabikity rating of ALL of the GOP candidates speaks volumes of her support from the base.

Palin is THE expert on the connection between Energy, Economy, national Security and Personal Freedom - no one else comes close.

No other GOP candidate will have that level of support and, in fact, would create a 3rd party movement that would guarantee an Ozero victory.

You've summarized my own position exactly.

They attack Palin because they think she's an idiot. In addition, they think there are enough Republican idiots to vote for her. They don't want a President who is an idiot.

I don't think Obama is that bright. I didn't want him for President either. Same thing, different camp.

The persistent mantra of moderate Republicans - in various shades of pastel - has been the big tent.

I don't know where the author of the posted article, David Stokes, got this statement from, but he seems to be dead wrong. IIRC, the "big tent" idea came from the Reagan people, Lee Atwater in particular.

In fact, Reagan would famously invoke his "Eleventh Commandment": "Thou shalt not speak evil about one's fellow Republican."

I like and approve of Reagan’s Eleventh Commandment as it leads to cohesiveness within the GOP.

We Republicans should be debating the plus and minus of policies - NOT trying to destroy one another.

That is what I so intensely disliked about Gov.Huckabee: he lied about another Republican candidate concerning abortion, and succeeded in forcing him out of the 2008 race. That threw the race to McCain.

Just so happens I'm reading Huckabee's book now, not that I'm a great fan of his. My guess is he was thinking about running when the book first came out but changed his mind.

Please refresh my memory: Who did Huckabee lie about re abortion?

Hmm...this is really embarrassing, but I’ve forgotten his name!

He is a former Senator for Tennessee and an actor, very well known across the nation.

The incident happened in South Carolina in 2008. Letters were sent out to registered Republicans, telling them that this man was pro-abortion but it was untrue.

Huckabee was the culprit.

Fred Thompson.

The name that keeps coming to my mind when thinking about possible blue-chip GOP candidates.

“It did more than that. Our country was already well down the road to socialism due to the policies of LBJ’s hero, FDR. However, LBJ did accelerate that effort with Medicare, the Voters Rights Act, and other things.”

And Nixon not only failed to repeal any of Johnson’s programs, he added more. Which is one reason that Republican moderates are a bad option.

Republican moderates are always bad. A liberal with an (R) next to their name is still a liberal, no matter how long and hard they try and convince us otherwise.

The moderate Republicans will tell us that just a little bit of socialism is not nearly as bad as the large amount of socialism the Democrats are trying to sell us, but in the end they are still trying to sell us socialism.

A part of me thinks we need to stop referring to Republicans as Republicans and start labeling them as either Conservatives or liberals (moderates would fall under the liberal label).

Levin likes a number of people, but hasn’t endorsed anyone yet - it’s too soon.
