We are demanding police level restraint of soldiers in kill or be killed wars, and then jail them for being soldiers. We are allowing police to become soldiers, with authority to shoot first and ask questions later, to the detriment of society and the pile of innocent bodies they leave behind.

No one goes to jail. If a private citizen did this they would be executed.

I am upset not with all cops...I know some and they are great and I wouldn’t want their job.
HOWEVER.....THESE DRUG SWAT TEAMS HAVE GOT TO GO!!
this dammmmmm WOD has got to go!
I am just heartbroken about this story...it just enrages me and turns my stomach! these SWAT drug vigalentes have got to be stopped. And Bill Bennet will go on and on about how great the WAR on Drugs is and “Oh, well, that’s the price we pay.”
And for what???More money for the huge money making WOD??
Why are we putting up with this?
To: CodeToad
The govt just calls them “mistakes.”

This has been posted a few times already but each time there is new information, thank you. The cops on FR will show up and defend the actions of this swat team. They have said he deserved what he got.
Not true. There are a couple who have blindly supported the action, however there are more who have stated that this was wrong and foresaw this happening as a result of the militarization of the police. Blanket statements will alienate people and police who are patriots.

Pima County Sheriff Dupnik had no problem in leaving Gerald Loughner alone long enough to shoot Gabrielle Giffords. Wonder what he considered important enough to go in with SWAT here?
I think you are the first to point this out. Worth repeating over and over. The rot is at the top.

There are quite a few who have supported the actions in this case. It happens every time.
When cops start condemning actions such as this then I’ll listen to talk of patriots.

But please dont paint all cops with such a broad brush. You're right ... it's the rotten 99% that give the rest a bad name.
Considering your "tag line", you're one of the 99%.

Do we have to start banding together in citizen militias to protect our families and ourselves against these murderers with badges or is that kind of self defense talk considered over the top?I think the name, address and photograph of each swat member should be widely posted on the internet.

My question is why didnt they just surround the house, get on a loudspeaker, and demand the occupants to come out with their hands on their heads, firing teargas as a last resortNot even. Why didn't they do their homework and apprehend him as he drove into his driveway after his coal mine shift? Shades of Ruby Ridge and Waco. WTF, over.

Are you speaking of William J. Bennett, the lying, gambling-addicted scumbag who was the main pusher of the War on Drugs?
History will scorn that man.

Yup...I listen to his radio show am on way to work cause he has some good guests..but he is getting so self serving its hard to listen to him.
I didn’t know he had a gambling problem and was the main pusher of the WOD. Yeesh.
I wonder how HE would have liked SWAT to come to HIS house on a gambling raid.

I feel along with you! You can just see the brokenness of her heart in her eyes and face. It will be a long time before she even begins to heal over this. And her kids, especially the one child that was at home, will always have nightmares over this.
I hope she receives tens of millions of dollars because of this. I for one, if on the jury, would award such a settlement, in fact I would demand it!
Her husband seemed to be one fine outstanding young man, husband, and father. A real contributor to our society!
God comfort this dear soul and her children. I cry for her in my heart.

Exactly what happened in Atlanta a few short years ago, where the Swat team murdered a precious dear old lady, becasue they went to the wrong house. And then they tried to cover it up by lying, and trying to get their snitch to lie for them. They are now in prison.
