It’s not just the Islamists that Obama is worried about. It’s the far left supporters, the academics and activists.

Killing Bin Laden was a pragmatic decision on Obama’s part. He was boxed in by the fact that passing on Bin Laden would have provided the perfect October surprise. The conundrum was that killing Bin Laden flies in the face of Obama’s post modernist, post American, critical legal theory, philosophy.

There was no way in this world that Obama could bring Osama back to NYC for a show trial that would end with restorative justice and condemnation of America as the great Oppressor. Executing Bin Laden was the lessor of two evils for Obama. His base will be upset, but they will still vote for him and the independents will be fooled into thinking that Obama is a hero.

It does smack of cowardice when reasons given are the usual,"we don't want to inflame Muslim anger". I hope they are angry; when aren't they in this perpetual state of mind.
