And yet only 58 Homicides in Utah in 2009.
Freaking idiots.

Well, don't forget that Mormon theology labels murder as an unforgiveable sin...which is not true in Biblical theology.
Otherwise, David, guilty of manslaughter, would be "out."
Moses...same thing.
I have a feeling that if the Christian church tossed out the Bible and made murder an unforgiveable, the murder rate would go down a bit...
I brought this up because last Sunday my liberal daughter said that abortion was needed because of rape etc. I pointed out that 60% of black kids are aborted in NYC and that it was Margaret Sangers plan to clean up and get rid of the weeds with eugenics. I also told them that in fifty years there would be no liberals on the planet because of abortion.
Rapes account for about .001 percent of abortions. Idiots have their talking points.
Do you have a source?
I would love to have this as a fact.
Looks like only 3279 abortions in 2009
***Mormons? Naaah...they wouldnt do that.***
I met a California mormon girl in 1971 who told me she had an abortion back in 1968. Well before it was “legal”. Her mom got her the medicine to do the job. Needless to say, I dropped her fast!
.001,That would be 1 out of every 100,000, seems unlikely, or only ten out of a million.
it is a national average. Do the math.
I would prefer a link to a real stat over out of what you have pulled from your ass.
There are places in the mountains where the wind seems to blow constantly and some folks don't seem to be able to handle it...
“Harold and Maude”, a “must-see” for some, the “worst movie I’ve ever seen” to others. I count myself as a member of the former group.
Or perhaps it is almost every house has a gun. (which is a good thing) The problem is gun are extremely successful in suicides. Drugs, slitting wrists etc are not successful.
A better statistic would be a suicide attempts normalized for population.
Your post leads one to suspect that the suicides in Utah (remember UT is only 9th) are all non-Mormon. I would suspect that is NOT the case. I would suspect that factoring in religion there is NO difference.
Looking at the map, kind of interesting that the US Northeast has low rates and people there are the most miserable and uptight. Colorado where I live at has a high rate but we are also known for being pretty laid back and casual.
On a different posting concerning Sweden, a different country, it also has a very high rate of suicide is New Zealand.

Being happy all the time can make you depressed.
Looks like places were there isn’t much to do...bored!?
I guess if there’s no company for misery...
Being happy all the time just isn’t normal.
About 13,000 women have abortions each year following rape or incest.
13,000/1,310,000 = .00992... or about .01. That is 1% according to the pro-aborts.
