I am so sorry to hear your son was injured. He and you will be in my prayers for his full recovery. Please thank him for his service on behalf of myself and my family.

I pray your Marine has a full recovery and comes back to us to make many babies.
My neighbor had his son-in-law killed in Iraq and those Westboro ghouls came to protest his funeral service. The Patriot Guard stood in front of the WBC nuts, locked arms, and pretty much shut them down. I expect the same will happen at the funeral for your son’s mates.
God bless your son, I always get something in my eye when I think of their service.

Thank God for the Patriot Guard. How sad it is though that they are even required to be present in order to shield the family from such despicable filth as those claiming to be Christians from the Westboro Church. They should be there instead to comfort the family and pay respects to a fallen hero and fellow American.
If I have to have a license to carry a hand gun, then those knuckleheads should have to have a license to carry a banner in them name of Freedom of Speech.

I too am sorry about your sons injuries. I will pray for him everyday. I will also pray for you and your family, that God will give the strength to endure the trials ahead.
I am sorry for your sons fellow soldiers that lost their lives.
However, I thank God for brave souls like them that protect this great country.

This is Texas. Hispanic last names are a part of our bigger fabric. You are very correct. If you look at the list of names of the dead patriots that defended the Alamo you will also find the names of Hispanics who fought and died for Texas. Click on this http://www.tamu.edu/ccbn/dewitt/tejanopatriots.htm to learn about Hispanics and the fight for freedom in Texas.

Thank you for your posts. God bless SGT Castro and his family.

The Patriot Guard was born as a direct consequence of those cretins who protest military funerals, but the vast majority of PGR missions involve nothing more than escorting the fallen, and standing for those who stood for us. I consider it the very least I can do. The families see, with their own eyes that the people of this nation support them and their sacrifices. Some of us may look scruffy, but we care about what’s important.

“What an odd comment.”
Actually your exclusion of the VietNamese as part of the fabric of Texas is what is odd.
Have a nice day

MY comment, if you can read, is how wonderful it is in the small town of Andrews for all ethnicities including VietNamese, to honor a fallen soldier . The other poster chose to ignore them not me.
There are many communities in Texas with many VietNamese and they become proud Americans.
