Anger over RyanCare now overshadowing ObamaCare
Orlando Sentinel ^ | April 27, 2011 | Mike Thomas

Dan Webster would be hard-pressed to make himself heard in a library. So the soft-spoken congressman didn't have a chance Tuesday when his town-hall meeting turned into a political food fight.

It seems liberal activists learned a lesson from the tea party.

They came; they shouted; they disrupted.

It worked for the tea party in attacking Democrats over ObamaCare. And it is working for liberals in attacking Republicans over RyanCare.

The Webster town hall was covered by National Public Radio and reported not only on our front page but also on the front page of The New York Times.

We love angry people yelling at politicians. Even better, we love them yelling at each other, as in, "You moron!''

At least we know the angry liberals aren't packing. Well, maybe pepper spray.

Webster was targeted not only because he is a Republican in a swing district, but also because he is the Republican who brought down Alan Grayson, the heart and soul of the left wing, the Democrat who fights like a Republican, the man who said Dick Cheney has "blood that drips from his teeth.''

Our tea party needs to focus on public relations in the next six months. We need to get in these comments areas and state the facts. No need to go after the liberal doofus comments, but just lay out the facts. The media is going to shift back into 5th gear to pull out all the stops for Obama and the Dems and we have to do more than rely on our party leadership to help manage the message.

I take it that Mike Thomas is an example of the Orlando Sentinel’s even handed liberal bias?

Just listened to clips of some MSM wag get blistered by Ryan as she threw out a dozen of the lib’s best talking points

His replies ripped each cause & effect meme she presented.

Even though all age groups, except the very young, do better under Medicare through the Ryan plan than Obamacare. The very young do not because they are being transitioned away from the current form into something else, which, when they will eventually need it, will actually be there for them, as opposed to the current system that will not even exist at current rates of expenditure.

What a load. Tea partiers didn't show up to disrupt with idiotic chants. Tea partiers showed up to demand answers to legitimate questions and were rightfully angry with the answers they got.

Spinning that proves that Leftwingtards are suffering from some very serious transmissible mental disorders.

It's gotta' be hard to reflect favorably on Grayson, but this writer makes it look so easy.

The phrase used by the Democrats,’Hurry up and Die’ is a lefty myth.

However, the same left quietly 100% support ‘Death With Dignity’ programs as a budget cutting method.

The elitist democrat party along with a few RINO’s would tell granny they will never cut Her Medicare while they slowly push her wheel chair into a Death Panel review board.

Mike Thomas is not very objective, is he? Tea Party people do not disrupt—they ask pointed questions and want truthful answers. Liberal activists, however, DO disrupt.

Let’s see the socialists take 54 seats next November.

Until then - just propaganda from the irresponsibles.

I am seeing this talking point all over. AstroTurf at the town halls and eager piling on by the Knee-pads Media.

Medicare “as we know it” officially ends in 2015 for ALL seniors and future beneficiaries under 0bamacare in 2015 with the institution of the rationing board (IPAB). Ryan’s plan will preserve as much as possible given our dire fiscal situation. Current seniors and those 55 years or older will see few changes,
This point must be driven home and was pointed out in Betsy McCaughey’s recent WSJ article.
