ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports that Judge Susan Nelson has granted a preliminary injunction to the NFL players, lifting the NFL lockout.

The league will seek an immediate stay of the injunction pending appeal. Judge Nelson apparently did not include a stay in her ruling, meaning the league will have to get a stay from 8th Circuit Court of Appeals in St. Louis.

I didn’t realize this was an Obama appointee. This outcome was inevitable.

Bread and circuses.

Who could care, except people not paying attention?

NFL Protecting Democrats
The National Football League’s political action committee-Gridiron PAC-has weighed in on the hotly contested U.S. Senate election in Nevada that pits conservative Republican challenger Sharron Angle against Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid.

The PAC has given $10,000 to Reid-the maximum it can give in a single election cycle-and no money to Angle, according to Federal Election Commission data compiled by OpenSecrets.org.

The NFL’s PAC also contributed to other incumbent Democratic senators facing viable challengers this year, giving $5,000 to Blanche Lincoln of Arkansas; $5,000 to Russ Feingold of Wisconsin; $5,000 to Barbara Boxer of California; $5,000 to Michael Bennet of Colorado; and $5,000 to Patty Murray of Washington.

In none of these races did the NFL’s PAC contribute to the Republican challenger.

So does this ruling apply to future NBA, MLB, NHL, or professional beer pong strikes as well?

I didn’t necessarily disagree with the guy, but he was too much of a one-trick pony.

The written ruling is 89 pages, so basically nobody knows anything at this point.

Boeing, NFL, etc. Organized labor seems to be on quite a phony roll....all because we lost two elections and Mao ran for President. I keep hoping someone will wake me up from this awful nightmare.

I could care less about the NFL Strike

I just wanted to make two points

That Dan Rooney who turned his back on his brothers and backed Obama.

Second that the Judges and people Obama appointed always rule for Unions.

( NFL was questioned about their donations and made a statement that they only give to incumbents

What they did to Rush, I won't be able to forgive them.

You know, none of it matters to me. A year from now, the Redskins will still suck. And I'll still despise the Cowboys. *SIGH*

"But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: for men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away, for his name is Obama."

Amen! I wonder at the minds here on FR who would post this crap. With our country in dire straits, what’s the news; a bunch of over paid minorities fighting with some super rich guys over a stupid game that is played in stadiums financed, sadly, by the taxpayers. Really, who gives a rat’s ass about football or any other “major sport!” Our preoccupation with sports yields up those who when answering polls on serious stuff answer, “I don’t have an opinion.” So guys, grab another beer, go squat in front of the big screen and indiscriminately scratch yourselves while our country circles the bowl!

So the players are not locked out; they still don’t have a contract will they practice and play in the street?
