The idea of a man in debt to George Soros as the Republican candidate for president is outrageous! And the Trump-Soros financial relationship may be linked to Trump's contributions to assorted 'Rats.

It also raises suspicions about Trump running as a third party spoiler working to help Obama's re-election chances.

BTW, was there any Soros-Perot connection in the 1992 and 1996 races?

Funny, I don't see where Soros's name is in the article. So the boogieman was behind which curtain again?

Soros is like that once radio cartoon show of the 60s - 70s.

Bock bock bock CHickeeeeenMan... Chickenman- he's everywhere he's everywhere!

Any connection to Soros is the kiss of death IMHO.

Was it because of her cold, clammy, cement-like hands?

This article states that a “Fortress” group bailed out Trump’s Chicago deal. Soros isn’t a Fortress founder or partner, so how does he fit in? Sorry, but I am lost.

You're correct. Soros is suppose to be the boogieman behind some unseen curtain, and who was personally pulling the money strings. It's not clear and it's not there, except in the parenthesis of the title of this thread.

A long article in Wiki about this project states that Deutsche Bank demanded payment from Trump in 2008, then Trump sued in 2009 on various grounds, and then in 2010 they agreed to a loan extension and that seems to be the end of it. No mention of any "bailouts" or Trump payments. Just a renegotiated loan.

Still waiting for some links to substantiate your claim that Soros bailed out Trump in 2008, or at any point for that matter.

I think all the Soros entity did was make an initial investment back in 2004.

I have always said that Trump is doing what he is doing with permission. Soros came out this weekend and said that Obama has lost control of the economic agenda and complained about it saying that the Republicans are winning. He is trying to get someone in that will continue to pursue his goals and picked "The Donald" to close the door on Obama and knock Palin out who he is really concerned about.

I also believe that Soros is just the front man though. Someone is behind even him. He is just taking advantage of the situation as he always does, but reporting back to even deeper pocketed masters. (My speculation being those who control the Saudi fortune)

“Nothing like trying to downplay a direct connection between Trump and Soros. You Trumpettes are pretty pathetic in trying to make a case for the Donald.”

Palin supporter here unequivocally. BUT

Trump is performing a service by going on the attack against the Devil. He did take the lead on birth cert. that most of us agree needs resolution. His attacks on OBum are significantly more aggressive than “most” of the potential candidates. If his success continues, he will hopefully lay the groundwork for a candidate that has “real” conservative credentials (see line 1 of response above).

Just because some of us like what he is saying now to stir the pot doesn’t mean we like his tattered past or, for that matter, support him as the GOP nominee.

Those that really do support him NOW (for nomination) are either RINOs or they are responding to someone who filled a vacuum by saying things they wanted to hear that nobody else was saying. As time passes, they will tend to sober up.

There has been so much grasping at straws in this whole story that a bunch of conspiracy people have blooded their keyboards.

I don't consider someone with your point of view to be a Trumpette - to the contrary, your views are fairly close to mine regarding Trump taking on Obama.

My criticisms are directed specifically at Freepers who think Trump being the GOP nominee is a good idea - and who are trying to spin away Trump's liberal past and his connections to conservative enemies such as Soros.

Yeah, I’ve seen a ton of conspiracy theories thrown out in about 2 days here on FR that it must be a new record.

So now we know the people who will be backing Trump's presidential run.

Trump lavished campaign money on every known liberal——Clinton, Rangel, Kerry, Reid, Lautenberg, Schumer......and other Dems.......

.....and he gave $50,000 to Rahm Emanuel’s Chicago mayoral race.

The Trump-Soros financial relationship may be linked to Trump's $$$ contributions to Dems and raises suspicions about Trump running as a 3rd party spoiler to help Obama's re-election chances.

Fine, initial investment. My mistake. Soros and Trump do business together. Another in a ridiculous long line of perfectly good reasons to stay as far away from this fraud as possible.

[Soros] picked "The Donald" to knock Palin out who he is really concerned about.

Amazing all the chatter among Republicans (mostly moderates but even some conservatives) that Palin as the GOP nominee would be unelectable. What nonsense! I guess they pick up on it from their MSM brainwashing.

Yep, it was fine, and it was in 2004. When builders are looking for investors, they look for the ones with available funds. So, since you're so worried by things like that, you really need to be worried about Deustche Bank. They invested four times as much as the Soros entity. So, if Trump should become president, Deustche Bank will be running America.

Right?

What is amazing is Palin. Just when you start to wonder, she comes out and hurls fireballs.

Real Clear Politics seems to have completely missed the event though. CBS decided to cover the Union Protesters. And the world is the same. But, this is a breath of hope, that I have been sorely missing for this last week once I discovered the run up in commodities prices and the brick wall of the end of QE2 that extending the debt limit will only cause more trouble, not solve a thing as the Fed will immediately start QE3.

The IMF has publicly warned the US that if the Deficit is not corrected immediately, the whole monetary system will destabilize, and this will happen if QE3 starts just as well.

This is why the Ryan plan is still fundamentally a day late and a Trillion Dollars short. He didn't touch Social Security and frankly this has to be done now. Any of us who haven't retired are going to get an extra few years to save up for ourselves. The Ponzie scheme has finally failed. Pushing farther into this deception is just insane.

However, Obama has been drawing us into a box with the Oil situation, there is no way to correct this mess in weeks. This is going to take nerves of steel to ride out.

Fortress Investment Group>>>>

Big whoop they loan sharked Trump some money when he was in a bind. Plus I see nothing on the internet about Fortress being a Soros operation

Nowhere in the article does it say George Soros bailed out Trump. The parenthesis in the heading is misinformation. We are to believe somewhere behind the scenes that Trump was personally bailed out by Soros. It's not there.

The issues don't end with the Deutsche Bank loan, according to loan documents. Mr. Trump borrowed $130 million in a mezzanine loan originated by a lending unit of private-equity firm Fortress Investment. That loan contains stiff terms, including a $50 million "exit fee" to be paid when the loan is due, in addition to accrued interest. A loan document says Mr. Trump could have to pay Fortress as much as $360 million, depending on how long the loan accrues interest. Combined with the Deutsche Bank senior loan, he would owe more than $1 billion in total.

The poster of this thread is saying that either Deutsche Bank or the Forrest Investment company or both are Soros puppets, and some dirty dealing has taken place becuase Soros is the man behind some hidden curtain.
