Every time is see one of those commercials for tinnitus cures I get tinnitus!
“Can you hear it? The constant ringing?” They ask!
Krap! I do now!

I am going on 50 years of constant ringing, so loud that at times I swear the people next to me can hear it.
It ‘sounds’ like a ‘steady carrier - zero bead’.
Don’t laugh about the power of suggestion though.
I had been successful for years ‘whiting it out’ (not meant to be a racist term) but the older I get, the harder it is. (to white out, yes words can mean other things).
However, it is so bad that I can ‘stop hearing it’ and if I say “Wow, that is better”, it comes back -
I attribute mine to ‘blowing my sinuses’ up and way to many cases of earphones being to ‘tight’ and getting many constant blasts to the ears.
Of course, that was back when I was ‘bullet proof’ and nothing hurt or registered......
Biggest mistake of one’s young life is taking the ‘quicky physical’ when being discharged - of course, there is no doubt in my mind that is what the ‘powers that be’ had in mind, get as little of your medical maladies on paper as possible - keeps you from making a claim in later life...
Or at the very least puts up many roadblocks ....

Mine comes from 3 years on an Air Craft Carrier.
My bunk was directly under the flight deck between the port catapult and the angle deck. So I got them both landing and taking off.
