Ed Harris To Play John McCain In HBO Film

Ed Harris has reportedly signed on to play Arizona Senator John McCain in an upcoming HBO original film called "Game Change." The film will focus on McCain's 2008 presidential campaign with former Alaska governor Sarah Palin.

Harris joins Julianne Moore in the film, who has previously confirmed the role of Sarah Palin. The film will directed by Jay Roach, who is perhaps best known for directing HBO's movie about the 2000 presidential election "Recount."

While speaking with Fox News' Sean Hannity, Palin opened up about the film. Hannity suggested that perhaps Demi Moore or Courtney Cox would have been a better choice than Julianne Moore.

"Well, I'm absolutely flattered that you would say that. But, no, I don't know. I think I'll just grit my teeth and bear whatever comes what may with that movie," Palin responded.

"Game Change" will be based on John Heilemann and Mark Halperin's book of the same name and "Recount" writer Danny Strong will provide the script.

Sounds like a perfect chance for HBO to smear Palin, conservatives, and the tea party with this movie.

If it’s released in September 2012, it will be just in time for an Oscar nomination for that year.

Oh the possibilities...

Ed Harris and McQueeg probably have the same political views.

McQueeg just has to pretend otherwise.

ED Harris is a far-leftist and Julianna Moore is not much more moderate. Some of their quotes about Bush, Iraq and Afghanistan go way beyond rational criticism.

Normally I don’t care who the actor/actresses are in movies but this choice leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

By the way, both are excellant actors/actresses so if the choice was based purely on talent, I’ve got no problem with it. I just won’t see the movie.

Since it is HBO, you know it will be a hit piece.

I’m going to make a movie, too.

I’m going to call it “RINO”.

It’s a story about a dottering old man who pretends to be Republican, but is actually a Progressive. In this story, his bumbling, pathetic campaign hands the United States to a Marxist who wasn’t born in the US....

Ed Harris is a damn good actor though. I can excuse his leftist views to watch him on the big screen. His role in “The Rock” was mesmerizing.

Since it is HBO, you know it will be a hit piece.

If I were the producer, it would also be a hit piece. Probably even harsher than HBO.

Wouldn’t it be safe to assume it’s based on the book?

Michael Hogan would have been a MUCH better choice.

Agreed. Harris will love making the 2008 ticket look like a bunch of idiots.

The sad part is that McCain will probably commend him for doing such a good job.

Not Ed Harris! They need Richard “civics” Dreyfuss to play McCain, complete with yellow teeth like he’s done before while playing “republicans”. You know, as ALL “republicans” smoke and/or chew tobacco, because they are EVIL.

I didn't read this part of the article:

The film will focus on McCain's 2008 presidential campaign with former Alaska governor Sarah Palin.

I thought it was going to be more of a long term biography.

You can bet this is the political pay off. Think about it.. who the hell cares about a movie of Mccain.....EXCEPT... McCain.

Did the conversation go something like this.... “ John how about running as a republican but you got to run a half assed campaign and we will make a cool movie of your life. Who do you want to play you? Ed Harris? ok Get Eds agent...”

Like I would EVER want to relive McLame’s so-called “campaign.” All I ever need to know about McPain I learned in October 2008 when he said “Obama is a good decent man that they did not have to fear as POTUS.” McP clearly demonstrated that he himself does not have the judgement to be POTUS.

It will be, predictably, a hit piece on the left’s greatest fear Sarah. Done in that snotty Hollywood style that’s both urgently earnest and still manages to lecture us on the “hateful” right.

The crushing predictability is Big Entertainment’s deep shame.
