Total Recall: Alvarez Out as Mayor (Tea Party Mentality CRUSHES Big Government Mayor!)
NBC Miami ^ | 3/15/11

A rise in taxes raised the temperature of many Miami-Dade County voters.

Tuesday they got a chance to express their anger in historical proportions, ousting Mayor Carlos Alvarez and Commissioner Natacha Seijas from office in the first successful recall vote in the county's history.

The ides of March? Vey hugh and series. In MIAMI DADE COUNTY, a liberal stronghold if there ever was one, 88% of voters told a tax-raising mayor and commissioner to leave!

Other commissioners who voted to expand the pay of government workers while RAISING TAXES on declining property values would have been fired, too...but the petitions just weren't there. Don't worry--they're going to be targeted in the next election.

Norman Braman, former owner of the Philadelphia Eagles, is the patriot who spear-headed this drive. He is a true American patriot.

Those who voted Alvarez and his buddy Seijas OUT may or may not openly embrace the Tea Party, but one thing is for sure: the Tea Party mentality is alive and well EVEN in liberal South Florida!

Florida news.

For those not following, Carlos Alvarez, the mayor of Miami-Dade County (not to be confused with the mayor of the CITY of Miami Thomas Regaldo):

committed millions in taxpayer money to the Florida Marlins new stadium—but the Marlins are MAKING MONEY...

approved raises for county government employees—some were in his own inner circle—as high as 50%...

raised the property tax rates on homes in Miami-Dade county, while property VALUES in Miami-Dade county have been going DOWN DOWN DOWN due to the real estate bust....

the people have had ENOUGH of expanding government—on EVERY level!

Yes, Alvarez had an R by his name.

Which can go to prove the point: the Tea Party isn’t a band of wild eyed Republican plants. They’re a group who wants RESPONSIBLE government! :)

“Tax them, not ME”

As it turned out, “Tax them, ended up being ME”!

We maybe at a moment in history when many are questioning their values. I guess tax increases are tax increases, and not liked, whether a Communist or Fascist Progressive.

Alvarez was a Republican (socialist)

There I fixed that for you.

If he was in Congress he would be a Democrat (communist) wannabe.

There are no free market conservatives in any elected office. Almost every tea-party caucus Congressman has voted at least once already to continue to pay people not to work (see HUD Section 8 and public housing untouched by anyone).

Yeah and garbage like Juan McLame, Mitt Romney, Mikey Huckabee, and so many others put a R in front of their names for convenience.
Don’t make them a republican, simply makes them a RINO turd.

It’s a new era. Tax and spend and your out the door.

It might take a few election cycles to get this thru their thick heads

Sounds more like a RINO to me.

GOP beware: you are as much the enemy as the socialists if you play their game.

Boehner: Stop your GD crying and start working for America and STOP saying Obammie the Commie is an OK guy. Wuss.

I’m thinking that the election of 2012 may be the first time in modern history where a third party splits the vote with the two major parties in a three-way parity.

I’m not saying the third party will win, but it will be close enough that elections will be split fairly evenly and it is possible in 2012, but there are simply too many unknowns and black-swan events that could change the game entirely.

Republicans will also be held to a higher standard since the worthless Democrats will never punish their own.

Third parties don’t win, they only help insure that Obama gets another term.

However TRAITOR Republicans will be punished!

I'm sure that if the media calls the Tea Party ignorant racists often enough, they'll quit out of shame and let things go back to they way they used to be, best expressed by a FReeper tag line I saw the other day:

Democrats = Death of the American Republic; Republicans = lingering death of the American Republic.
