And even though we knew, we KNEW, he would be like this, there is still some small part of me that is somehow still shocked at the utter, rank incompetence. Or maybe shocked that there are still legions of defenders. I don’t know.
I have a question for fellow Freepers now — I remember reading an op-ed in Oct or Nov of 08 that was musing about what kind of executive 0 would turn out to be, and I can’t remember who wrote it, and it’s driving me crazy.
The author provided two scenarios based on the little (very, very little) info we had to go on: first, that he would stay about the fray, letting other people come up with ideas but not giving them any hint of what he wanted, and then he would ever-so-wisely choose like Solomon among them. (I am probably adding more sarcasm than was in the piece).
Or second, that he would be as passive (and useless, imo) as he was as both a state senator and as the senator from IL, and would let other people come up with ideas, not giving them any hint of what he wanted. This would be disastrous because then Reid and Pelosi would effectively be in charge. (Which is exactly what we got, again, no surprise to anyone here, but this was kind of a MSM person musing this way.)
The author’s main point was that he really hoped 0 would turn out to be more like #1, but that there was really no way to tell based on previous behavior, and he was kind of, not exactly anxious, but maybe a little.
Does anyone else remember this article / who wrote it?

The Messiah, the Savior, is doing jut that. He is redistributing the wealth, he is saving the people.

The only people surprised by this are Brooks, Frum, Noonan, Buckley, Jr., and the rest of the “he has the right temperment” crowd.

The Americans aren't even sure what his real name is and yet they elected him president of the United States. When was the last time that happened? Oh, yeah, Billy Jeff Blythe Clinton - nevermind that.
Obama cannot say he was born in Missouri or New Mexico or Pennsylvania because he is completely ignorant of continental American traditions and history - (except for the racist stuff) therefore he chose Hawaii because it isn't even really an American state in the traditional sense. It's some Polynesian island in the middle of nowhere that just so happens to make a very convenient military installation for us.
That does not explain the 2010 election. Plenty of voters have evidently know what this D-Bag is about. He will be lucky to be on the ballot in 2012.
