Almost none. What the excerpt doesn’t state, is that there is a very high, and very transient, population of illegal aliens in PG county. I’d guess maybe half of those warrants are for untraceable transient Hispanic people. Offhand, I’d guess there are somewhere between 100,000 and 200,000 illegal residents in PG who aren’t counted in the census.

I have a friend who worked in the warrant section of a major police department. You are exactly right. Some of them are for barking dogs, theft under $300, dog licenses etc... They are sent to the D.A. to be taken out of the system and the “bad” warrants left in the system. Sort of like spring cleaning if you can imagine that scenario. IMHO

I'd ask former County Exec Johnson except he's spending most of his time with FBI interrogators and with his lawyers who blame George Bush. Johnson's free on bond pending trial. I couldn't get hold of him.
