Shrugging at terror
NY Post ^ | March 6, 2011 | Michael A. Walsh

Two American servicemen were killed last week on as signment overseas. No, not in Iraq or Afghanistan, but in Frankfurt, Germany, for the simple act of getting on a bus. A lone Muslim gunman opened fire on the unsuspecting airmen at the Frankfurt airport, killing Nicholas J. Alden and Zachary R. Cuddeback and wounding two others. He shouted "Allah Akbar" as he shot -- making it plain he was murdering in the name of his god.

A few days earlier, four Americans sailing in the Indian Ocean on a mission of Christian mercy -distributing Bibles to remote churches -- were captured by Somali pirates in international waters and executed while US naval officers were trying to negotiate their release.

The reaction from the administration was dispassionately anodyne, as if these people had met with some freak accident. President Obama called Frankfurt a "tragic event," while Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said the pirate incident left her "deeply saddened and very upset."

Meanwhile, State Department spokesman P.J. Crowley did the usual Obama pretzel, avoiding any mention of Islam in connection to Frankfurt. Asked whether the sudden jihad explosion of a Muslim Kosovar holding German citizenship was a terrorist incident, Crowley replied evasively: "Was the shooting of Congresswoman Gabby Giffords a terrorist attack? You have to look at the evidence and look at the motivation, and then you make a judgment, and that is a process as far as I know that is ongoing."

This is one of the things that infuriates me most of all.

You see, if they were all accidents then there is
no response called for, no one has to do anything.
Oh maybe put warning labels on buckets, or make
shopping carts safer but no decisive actions which
would have consequences and responsibilities leading
directly back to this administration.

What a horrible mistake this country made.

I’ll bet one could take the IBM computer on Jeopardy and program it to say the same comments...Deeply saddened...disappointed...almost outraged...concerned.

This would free up o and his ilk for more time for golf.

Clinton shrugged at muslim terror attack after muslim terror attack.
Then the muslims hit us on 9/11.

After 9/11 the dims and their media were all lamenting that clinton wasn’t the President when 9/11 happened. Very strange. Why would they think that?

Bush sent a bunch of muslims to their afterlife and really caught the muslims off guard.

Then along slithers obama into the office. He has spend the last two years flashing weakness to the same types of people who hit us multiple times since 1993.

Combine that with the “never let a crisis go to waste” mindset and it looks as if the obama gang want’s another terror attack on this country so they can step in to restore order. Their version of order.

We (well, not those of us on FR) made such a mistake in electing this thing who is now in the White House that we may not be able to recover - until we are overtly attacked by Islam. But I actually don’t think Islam will even have to stage another 9/11.

My feeling is that what Obama is trying to do is simply pave the way by privileging Islam (promoting Islamic law, promoting Islamic causes) so that by the time he leaves the WH, the Islamicization of the US will be virtually a done deal. It doesn’t look as though any Americans, including churches and Jewish groups, are standing up and asking why Islam should be treated with kid gloves while Christian and Jewish organizations are treated as threats to the Republic.

Since Obama will probably be reelected - because the GOP has no decent candidates and the Dems have a lot more money and power than we do - we should be prepared for a horrible few years as he tries to put this in place. And we should be fighting back.

If there were anyway here (in Florida) where people could get out and protest the Islamicization of the US, I’d be there tomorrow. No, make that now.

I disagree to some extent, the dems do not have more
money or power, if we have the right platform and
candidate. There is an avalance of funds and support
waiting to be poured out in opposition to the horrible
policies put forth by this administration.

We are in hard economic times and will be into the
election, people are watching how they spend their
money, but they will open the purse if they think
they are investing in a positive vision of America,
one that will enrich their children’s lives and give
them the opportunities their parents and grandparents
had.

We must not lose heart, America has a place in the Future!

I sure hope so. The way he’s going, however...he and his minions just simply ignore anything they don’t like (court orders, laws, etc.) and so far nobody has forced them to back down.

He’s an evil creature. The Constitution was designed to protect us against the ordinary overreaching by one or another power and designed to give us a workable pattern for dealing with conflicts and distributing decisions. But it was not designed to deal with somebody who doesn’t give a darn what it says and who believes, plain and simple, that his word is law and his whim (or even his psychosis) is policy.

He’s evil and he’s crazy, and I think we need somebody who will really confront him personally and stand up to him. Right now the GOP is playing by the old rules: Assume your opponent is sane and assume he doesn’t really want to destroy the country. Those assumptions aren’t true anymore.

I think things can be saved, but I think it’s going to take a GOP candidate with a lot of resolve and a lot of courage.

I agree, a lot hangs on the coming primary.

It’s up to us to not let the media pick our
candidate.
