Regardless of what one thinks of Christie, his remark is still a poke in the eye to The Kenyan.

I hadn't thought of that, but it is absolutely true. However, it's also a (well-deserved) poke at our pathetic field of GOP hopefuls.

Not to mention that NJ has some of the most restrictive gun control in the nation.

“I got a kick out of him...at first”

Well stated-my sentiments exactly. But, his gratuitous denigration of Sarah Palin is completely unnecessary, at least at this point. I’m not so sure he’ll be the best national candidate, after all he is from “Joisey.”

Get over trying to find the “true conservative”, none exists and if they did they couldn’t get enough electoral votes to be elected.

Since this website is DEDICATED to finding the "true conservative", if you truly feel this way maybe you're wasting your time here. Honestly.

I know I will never "get over" finding the "true conservative" as long as I live and that is WHY I come to Free Republic.

Why are you here? Honestly?

Yep. And he’s no asset for us outside of NJ, as he’s an Islamist/terrorist/illegal alien-coddling Northeast Republican.

I'm relieved because everybody knows, NJ Governors make the very best presidents...

You are correct. Some here are suffering from delusions of grandeur for the conservative movement.

They also forget that the real interest of the Tea Party is to run fiscal conservatives and to a much lesser degree - social conservatives.

A “birther” doesn’t have any chance at all.

And he has the good sense to at least finish one term as governor before moving on.

In this case, the fat jokes are will-deserved.

I don't believe there is anyone among the serious contenders for the GOP nomination who has not at one time said something which, if uttered on FR, would bring calls for the viking kitty lightning.

It's one thing to rule out a few candidates as being too liberal, it's something else to rule out everybody except one or two fringe candidates.

You’re clearly a very clever guy.

Christie is nothing more than a parody of conservatism and an occassional good sound bite.

One of the biggest actions the next Pres will do is supreme court appointments. Christie has already failed and failed big on that score.

You don’t see that appointing a judge that is a Shariah law PROMOTER and sympathizer is a problem?

That’s what CC did - payback for Muzzie votes. That’s not the ultimate politician?

Pah-Leeze! His NJ mobster mentality will NEVER EVER sell in the south and midwest. NEVER.

Of course, these days, you’re run of the mill neocon like GWB is as close to Wilson as anyone.

He might fix our budget problems, but his supreme court appointments would destroy this country! He is very liberal on on social issues. I’ve learned one thing about presidents, NOTHING is more important than who they would put on the Supreme Court.

I like the fat jokes. They demonstrate who has no argument; just imbicility. It’s a nice way to weed out the dopes.

The fact is, he could win the White House if he ran.

Not a fact, it's your opinion/prediction.

No way to make it a fact unless it happens.

You spout two "facts" neither of which are.

Today is Wednesday, March 2, 2011 in the United States of America...that is a fact.

Notice the difference?

You are absolutely correct, but oen could also make an equally valid argument that to date, Christie is running the greatest "stealth" campaign ever for the WH..

His riff about "committing suicide" to prove he's not running is brilliant, but as far as I know, no one has yet asked him to publicly take Sherman's pledge...

"If nominated, I shall not run; if elected, I shall not serve.."
