American combat troops will get sensitivity training directly on the battlefield about the military’s new policy on gays instead of waiting until they return to home base in the United States, the senior enlisted man in Afghanistan said Thursday.
The Pentagon is launching an extensive force-wide program to ease the process of integrating open homosexuals into the ranks, including into close-knit fighting units.
Army Command Sgt. Maj. Marvin Hill, the top enlisted man in Afghanistan where 100,000 U.S. troops are deployed, said that the sessions on respecting gays’ rights will go right down to the forward operating bases, where troops fight Taliban militants.
“I have heard about the training that will be forthcoming to the battlefield,” Sgt. Hill told Pentagon reporters via a teleconference from Kabul.
“We will take our directions from the Department of Defense, from the secretary of defense, the chairman, as well as the service chiefs of each service. Our plan is to take their direction, and we’re going to execute that training right here on the battlefield.”
No unit is exempted, he said.

You will not have troops who are honorable and have character, if they practice homosexuality. It is not possible. Forcing respect of that act is a gross violation of conscience and it goes against our Constitution...laws can not go against the nature of man. They are unjust according to the intent of our Founding Fathers. There is nothing natural about homosexuality. It is a perversion and it always includes pederasts. It advocates child abuse.

I talked to my son the other day about this. He’s a middle manager rank in the Army. He’s got three years to do and then he’s retiring. He can’t stand the way things are but he has invested so many years that he can’t just walk away without his full retirement. He says that many, many troops feel this way but with the shaky economy, they’re not sure they can make the kind of money out of the military that they make in, so they stay, but just putting in time.
The Warrior ethos is dying. Don’t see how we can survive if things don’t change.

I went to Basic and OCS with guys who were obviously gay. No one said anything about it. Everyone made fun of everybody. Jews, Blacks, Hispanics, inner-city punks, hicks. Everybody got ripped on. Except the gay guys. It was unspoken that if you made fun of them, they would go to the cadre and you would be screwed. But in the end we were all brothers.
This is not going to go over well.
I’d rather have half blind, half-deaf guys doing our fighting for us instead of these panzy-faced faggots.

We see a lot of former military guys in the oil patch—they are used to difficult conditions, long hours, and weather. Some mighty good hands come this way from there. Just saying that might be a direction to consider, especially for a younger person.

The goal of such training, according to Amirall-Padamsee, is "to produce graduates who are individuals committed to educational and social justice, and not just a tolerance of, but a validating of difference."

100 percent agree which is why the military will say this is a success. They could not have picked a better time to implement this.....the economy is horrible. The military has more people than they need and throw this in and people won’t be able to leave.....yet. This will only become a problem when the economy bounces back and by then they will just blame the economy and GI Bill.
The next Republican nominee should promise that as her first order of business, the troops will be told to disregard all training ordered by Obama.

True about HR “running the companies”; odd for a department that historically was a place to employ low-skilled relatives of people higher up the corporate ladder. Deep down even the big companies know that on any day their homosexual employees can be arrested at a rest stop on their way to work; they are just unstable (part of the mental illness). Merck has many jobs in NJ; even our GOVERNOR was doing that stuff.

The natural result of that is tribalism in which people just stick with like-minded others who look like them, speak like them, and eat the same kind of food as them. Kind of counter to what the universities’ stated goals are, no? I enjoy studying different parts of the world, but the PC nonsense has me secretly beaming with pride that our students today think Outer Mongolia is somewhere out past Pluto. All learning (outside of the limited parts needed to earn a living) basically stopped just as they wrested control of the agenda...

One tough thing for these people reaching their 20 years is that many of the jobs that gave preference to veterans aren’t available anymore; much government hiring at all levels has not only stopped, but the workforces are now contracting.
The loss of talent will not be made up by recruits coming in under looser standards for different reasons than those who are leaving initially joined.
I'd like to see some of the senior leadership in theater tell those guys back in Washington that they're just not going to do this.
I love our troops and I enjoy working with the military, but one thing I despise is the ass-kissing mentality that prevails.
If just a few of the senior leaders would enlist some backbone and tell the SECDEF and others how stupid this is, it would very likely get some traction.
