You know, if they’re actually using a state credit card, all the governor has to do is report it stolen. Then they will not only have to pay their travel expenses out of their own funds, but they will possibly be arrested for grand theft.

Declare the seats abandoned, schedule the special election

Declare the seats abandoned, let the governor appoint replacements, and recognize the new quorum. Problem solved.

CNN has a poll about unions. Even on the Communist News Network the unions are losing!
What to vote?

Withholding income taxes puts them in legal jeopardy, BUT, they can stop consuming and building until something is done. No consumer tax would hit the local governments hard, and no building stagnates property taxes. Bartering or trading leaves them out altogether.

Yeah, you're probably right. If Wisconsin's income tax is handled like the federal income tax, perhaps taxpayers can change their withholding (state W-4) so that less is removed from their pay each week. That way, they could at least reduce the amount of money that the state is getting from them. Of course, they would understand that they are likely to have to make up the difference at the end of the tax year if their withholding is inadequate.

Driving from here to there you can get almost 24/7 Limbaugh broadcasts and replays.

Should screw him up good whether it converts him or not.

We all know they're surrender monkeys...

French - cheese-eating surrender monkeys
Wisconsin democrats - cheese headed surrender monkeys.

“We demand that the provisions that completely eliminate the ability of workers… to negotiate on a fair basis with their employers be removed from the budget repair bill and any other future budget,” Miller said.

The fact that the provision is part of the "budget repair bill" is what makes it necessary to have a Dem present (tax and appropriations bills need 3/5 quorum, and the Repubs are one short of a 3/5 majority).

OK, take the provision out and pass it by itself in its own non-appropriations bill, which will just need a simple majority quorum.

Unless the Repubs do this, consider them to just be engaging in posturing, and not really serious.

Miller should threaten to resign if his demands aren’t met :)

Egads, we’re finally at the precipice of a big deal here and you’re ready to surrender?!

I have faith that Walker will hold. He and the republicans won a clear mandate. Given the drama here they’re “all in” — there’s really no option for them to back down and keep their jobs or conscience.

And by the way, where are the TEA Party members in WI? Why aren’t they standing with the governor and GOP newcomers in this fight?

They have day jobs. Plus letting the union mobs run riot by themselves makes the Left look bad to the moderates onthe fence.

Now that they’re holed up in their secure locations, I guess their next step is to start kidnapping people and threatening to behead them if the demands are not met.

My understanding is that the governor is simply asking for the union members to begin paying for HALF OF THEIR BENEFITS????

Public sector unions should be illegal. How dare they demand the citizens of Wisconsin to continue to pay for ALL OF THEIR BENEFITS!”””

Walker is asking for employees to pay for 12.5% of their health care premiums—when the state average is 25% & the NATIONAL average is 20%+.

He is also asking them to pay 50% of their pension input. As I understand it right now- they pay absolutely NOTHING for their pensions.

Find me a private sector company which pays ALL of your pension funds.

The fugitive leader said they were not all in the same place so cut their communications.

Cut off their e-mail accounts if paid for by the State.

Surround the places they are staying and deny any food or water from reaching them.”””

IF ANY of these delinquent Democrats try to bill the state for one single penny of their ‘travel expenses’ for this debacle, I would ask the state Attorney General to bring them up on fraud charges.

Maybe the taxpayers in Wisconsin ought to withhold state taxes and put up a list of demands as well. After all, they’re the ones that are paying for all this. “””

Sounds good to me. April 15 isn’t that far away.

How about holding State income taxes that are withheld in payroll checks in an escrow account & not forwarding to the state treasury? Dry up their resources.

I missed this section of Roberts Rules Of Order.

Is he trying to amed the bill? Was his "demand" seconded? What procedure is he following that gives him the floor to offer these demands? < /sarc>

Or is following some other form of government?

Since they’re elected I doubt they can be “fired” per se. However, if I were in their district I would start a recall petition immediately for failure to perform the duties of the office.

“Surround the places they are staying and deny any food or water from reaching them.”

And play loud rock music day and night like the Army did in Panama when trying to get its thug leader out of the Vatican embassy.

The Democrats pulled the same crap in Texas a few years ago and they pretty much won if I recall. I wonder how things will play out this time.
