Harvard’s Niall Ferguson Rails Against Obama’s Foreign Policy On Morning Joe

Niall Ferguson, Harvard professor and Newsweek columnist, rained on the Morning Joe parade this morning by arguing President Obama blew it in Egypt and has now left the country in a fragile state potentially susceptible to domination by the Muslim Brotherhood. Prior to hearing Ferguson, Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough thought Obama did pretty well with the situation, however Ferguson passionately attempted to convince them otherwise.

Brzezinski claimed “looking at all the different reports coming in, and the pictures, and the peacefulness on the streets of Cairo, so far so good it actually seems like it went pretty damn well.” Ferguson responded “I wished I shared your confidence” and attempted to teach Brzezinski a history lesson suggesting “anybody who counts this as a major breakthrough for United States foreign policy, hasn’t got a clue about what happens in the wake of a revolution like this.”

Although this will make you laugh out loud, it is a pretty sad commentary on how the United States is portrayed thanks to this clown in office.

I liked Ferguson before this, he is a brilliant Economist who handed Krugman his a** once in a debate, but now I really trust him.

I urge all Freepers to watch his series (how this got past the Komrades @ PBS ??), "Ascent of Money" for insight into how money really works, and how banks have historically and repeatedly driven governments into ruin.

Mika Brzezinski is the daughter of Zbig Brzezinski, who was Carter’s foreign policy adviser when he sold out the Shah of Iran and brought in the Muslim terrorists.

And although I haven’t seen him mentioned recently, I believe that Zbig is working in the background for Obama right now.

Call it either irony or brilliant debating: one of the panelists tried a “gotcha”, pressing Ferguson on his statement that “Obama has surrounded himself with advisors who are second-rate, if not third-rate”, “would you say Hillary Clinton is second-rate?” He responded something like, well, she’s no Henry Kissinger or Zignew Brzinsky, now is she.

That really is funny.

Actually, Zbig was one of Kissinger’s grad students at Harvard. One of my roommates had Zbig as a tutor, in History and Literature of all things. I met him once for that reason.

They are both, actually, EXTREMELY bright. But horribly misguided, as bright people sometimes are.

He has just been signed by Newsweek, and some believe it may be an effort by that magazine to move toward the center and thus fend off its demise.
