>> Darn.
Do you mean, “Darn, I’m going to miss Andy’s fine reporting”?
Or, “Darn, he left before they got him”? :-)

Yeah, why not make him our beloved “man on the street” in Nogales or Nuevo Laredo.

And where’s the backbone shown by the hero journalists of yore - like Gunga Dan Rather reporting from Afghanistan and Ed Murrow reporting from the rooftops of London during the Blitz?

May I also suggest Juarez. No one would attack an American journalist there.

Pro democracy protesters my pale white a@@. The media was safer in Iraq when the U.S. deposed Saddam Hussein. Ironic ain’t it.

The unrest must have cut access to his favorite local cruising spots. It couldn’t have been the rocks and punches that drove him off. He’s spent most of his life getting hit in the face with balls.

Anderson, Katie and the other pretty talking faces went to Egypt when they thought it would be safe. They thought they’d be there for the “tearing down of the Berlin wall” moment, where they would join the jubiliant, peaceful protesters who regained their right to twitter. Instead, they found themselves in a war zone.

I think he means darn as in he’ll be back in this country.

Emotions seemed to escilate when the US media arrived. Seems like Obie and Co aren’t the only ones not willing to let a crisis go to waste.

*headline only*
awwww poor widdle Anderson misses home? Poor widdle thing. He and his ilk hate this Nation (and us) so much I’m shocked that he wants to leave Egypt; which is the direct result of his hero’s actions. Wanting to come back to the U.S.A? It’s such unfair, bigoted, illerate Nation...it’s shocking that he wants to come back here.

Another example of American journalists thinking they are loved and admired and would be kept safe by the protesters. They don't want the press there and don't care or probably know who katiecouric or prissyanderson either one actually is. The look on katie's face when she actually realized this wasn't a garden party and she was really in deep doodoo was priceless though.
They will both be lauded and awarded for their bravery once they get home by other equally clueless media types

So he didn't just get the story he's made himself the story.
Typical.
