Whom do you think would be a stronger candidate for the GOP in 2012?

Title IX had an impact in a good way in Palin’s era—it was later that it became counterproductive.

SD replaced Tiny Tom with John Thune in 2004. He ran unopposed this year. SD also just replaced its lone representative with a Palin-esque woman named Kristi Noem. Check her out...

Girls sports teams came into existence and/or were given greater resources due to Title IX. I’m a contemporary of hers and as a girl had my first girls’ sports team opportunity in the sixth grade, in 1973, when my elementary school added its first girls team (in soccer). I played sports through college, without any scholarships, but definitely with Title IX-driven advances, even though the college women’s teams were still second class citizens at that time.

What’s happened since then, with so many mens’ sports getting cut, is not what was going on then.

FWIW, the poll oversamples ‘moderates’ by about 8 points. That’d explain the entire advantage that Mitt has versus Palin against Barry.

That’s a load of crap. It’s your opinion against mine. Talk to me after the primaries, we’ll see who’s right.

It ain’t wishful thinking on my part, it’s determination. We need someone who is willing to take on the corruption in DC and I’ll do everything in my power to see that it happens. I don’t know who you are supporting but I’ll bet who ever it is won’t do a damn thing in Washington to solve the problems we face.

Agreed. Quayle did a lot of good things before he got pigeon holed and eventually destroyed as a threat.

He didn't try, or didn't know how to fight back against the democrat/media complex.

Most republicans can't figure out how to do it, Reagan did it best, because it's a difficult thing to do.

I went through the internals of this poll. There are quite a few surprising results, all of which tie into this;

Q14 Would you describe yourself as a liberal,
moderate, or conservative?
Liberal ............................................................. 13%
Moderate......................................................... 44%
Conservative................................................... 43%

If “Moderates” truly do compose 44% of the voting population, then a candidate seen as “Moderate” is most likely to win the state with it’s 3 Electoral Votes.

I’m certainly not a South Dakota expert, but I’d always thought that SD was far more Conservative.

I asked YOU earlier and YOU didn't answer, and I just noticed you sidestepped Chunga's question as well.

Which candidate CAN WIN IN 2012? WHO DO YOU THINK SHOULD RUN AND WIN!!!

Hildy is a longtime, SCREAM CAPS poster. If you say good morning to her, she would probably scream back, NO IT ISN'T!! LOL!

My Gosh, you can’t even take CAP letters...wait until you see what they do to Sarah. Laugh all you want. You guys have SUCH a GOOD track record. Yes, I am SCREAMING IT.

I simply pointed out your affinity for scream caps. I made no comment about "taking" or not taking it.

LOL!

Yer funny Hildy. Don't ever change.

Same as most liberal schemes. What I hear is some colleges have so much Title 9 money to spend that they can’t recruit enough women for teams or form teams..... So they use it to dole out lots of undeserved sports scholarships to women

so—
guy gymnast ——————— no scholarship for you
mediocre female gymnast-— you get a scholarship

No worries. If she’s as clever and history-shaking as her supporters claim she is, she’ll waltz into the Oval Office.

Yes, and yet the old system was grossly unfair the other way. I think per usual government change was imposed only when society was heading in a better direction anyway—but entrenched interests were soaking up tax dollars while dragging their feet.

I’d rather have federal dollars out of higher ed completely and let genuine markets decide.

Hildy:

You have declared Palin unelectable. This tells me that you are able to differentiate between "electable" and "not elecatable."

Please...for the umpteenth time: Which electable Republican(s) do you prefer?

(This is so easy a Palin supporter can do it. How about you?)
