A spokeswoman for Moscow's busiest airport says 35 people have been killed by an explosion in its international arrivals hall.
Domodedovo Airport spokeswoman Yelena Galanova made the statement Monday on Russia's NTV television.
Other officials put the death toll at 31 and said about 130 people were injured in the explosion Monday afternoon. President Dmitry Medvedev said it looked like a terror attack and the state RIA Novosti news agency said the blast may have been set off by a suicide bomber.

So much vitriol! So much hate! We’re even causing violence on the other side of the globe!
This must be what Palin meant when she said she could see Russia from her porch.
Wow...wonder if they’ll try to ban firearms ownership and high cap “clips” and ....oh...wait...never mind...
Dispatches from the “Culture of Death”.
I wonder if Russia will shut down it’s gov’t for a week?
What does that have to do with a suspected suicide bomber?
You know that Tina Fey on SNL while portraying Sarah Palin said “I can see Russia from my house.” Of course that incited this poor terrorist, thus it is Sarah’s fault, In addition the terroist was worried that when he flees to the US, Obamacare will not be available to treat him for free.
I doubt there’s much to treat on a suicide bomber.
Seems this action in Russia fits precisely speculation of what could happen often posted against TSA threads here at FR.
It can, and will happen here too.
Nothing, actually.
Didn’t realize blatant sarcasm needed a /sarc tag.
All that Muslim violence throughout the world will cease as soon as the Victory Mosque at WTC site has been built and the Saudi flag flies on the lawn of the WH.

This image is on DRUDGE. Can anyone explain?
Never let a crisis go to waste, didn’t they say...?
Exactly. Herd masses of people in long lines going through security, makes an easy target. Same thing happened in 1972 at Lod (now David Ben Gurion) Airport, in Tel Aviv, when terrorists shot and killed 26.
the guy wearing the hat seems pretty unphased.
The live ones, I mean.
Must be the Mormons..
Guy in hat steps over bodies, moves to head of the security line
Sure. First, you need to use HTML code, that is embedded in the web page. You should use the IMG SRC tag.
Attribute for < IMG ...> SRC = "text string" SRC tells where to get the picture that should be put on the page. SRC is the one required attribute for < IMG ...>. For example, suppose that the GIF file "../graphics/pumpkin.gif" is in the same directory as this page. We can place it in the page like this: SRC is a hypertext reference, like the < A HREF="..."> attribute. The reference can be relative (like the example above) or it can be a "fully qualified" reference. The most common use for fully qualified references is for the "access counter" images you see on some web pages. These counters work by calling an image file located on some other web server which specializes in access counters. That server looks at what web page is calling the image (that information is given in the URL), looks at the record for how many times that image has been called, and generates an image file with the numbers in the image. Suppose, for example, there is an access counter located at the server of our friends ninthwonder.com (there isn't really):
He did it with a fanny pack...
Global Warming?
Tea Party?
Bush’s fault?
Stay tuned for ... weather coverage at 6 PM.
You jest! Of course its Palin, Limbaugh and Beck’s fault! Just ask the Paper of Record. (sarc)
“You know that Tina Fey on SNL while portraying Sarah Palin said I can see Russia from my house. “
Sarah NEVER SAID THAT attributed quote, but the media morons hung on to it. She said that she could see Russia from the American side, which, if any hammer-ass has studied geography (instead of social studies or whatever the hell they call it) would know that she was ONE HUNDRED PERCENT RIGHT! Big difference from seeing it from her HOUSE.
Anyway, such a tragedy . . . my daughter and son-in-law flew out of that airport just two weeks ago . . . how sad!
It says in the article that one man was seen in a sort of daze pushing a luggage cart through the piles of bodies and severed limbs. Some of the people against the wall are probably dead.
“Turns out there is a reason,
Muslims are in season, ...”
Putin was overheard singing that to himself.
;-)
Russian Moslims have been acting out their Koranic demands to kill Christians for umpteen centuries. Christian Russians are tired of the continual Moslim attacks.
Somehow, I doubt Putin would lose any sleep if he had continue the age old Russian practice of direct reduction of the Moslim population.
do they have Amish in Moscow?
35 innocent travelers bombed and shredded to death by shrapnel is not a cause for levity.
This is life and death.
Yes indeed..it is coming no doubt. All they need is one inside person to open the gate...just one. If the economic conditions continue here I can see someone being paid lots of money to do just that.
You're absolutely correct. The media destroyed Dan Quale over a potato(e)!
We should destroy liberals the same way. Our esteemed CIC repeated "corps(e)man" several times in one speech and that tells you a lot about the IGNORANCE of The BRILLIANT ONE (WON.)
BTW, where are 0b0z0's education records to see if he ever passed English as a second language?
Using Master Alinsky's manual against Conservatives, is something the Fifth Column Media excels at.
Thin-skinned Communists should be treated the same and that will laugh them out of control! Papa Alinsky
I doubt theres much to treat on a suicide bomber.
I believe you are correct, brother...
I doubt The Religion of Peace needs an excuses like tough economic times to blow some people up. It’s beyond me that we haven’t had an incident like this yet. There are a whole lot easier targets than an airport.
From the article:
“A dazed man in a suit pushed a baggage cart through the carnage.”
No but they do need someone on the inside to open the door...or pass them thru security.
I think you will note that I never said that Sarah said that. I said that Tina Fey said that. Don’t understand why you would assume that I was so dumb that I would think that if Tina said it Sarah did. I am not an idiot liberal.
Here is a video taken from the location - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BUQPlEr1puI
At Domodedovo, there's an area just as you're exiting the international arrivals hall where all of the relatives, hosts, and drivers wait for arriving travelers. It's quite a gauntlet of people you've got to negotiate when you leave. So, it's quite imaginable that this guy could target 100-200 people without entering into the secure area.
When I was at that airport in Moscow in 1988, there were two separate sections within the airport that didn’t interact. It had a great big wall separating both sections - the international section and the Soviet citizen section. Our section was calm & empty; the Soviet section was chaos & mayhem. Took a flight on Ae...roflot to Leningrad that day, which was a nightmare in itself...
“I think you will note that I never said that Sarah said that”
Oh, contraire . . . I’m sorry . . . I never meant that YOU said that . . . sorry . . . I’ve just heard knuckle heads repeat that Tina Fey crap frequently. No, I know you didn’t say that.
I just wish more people knew exactly what she said. Sorry, Fellow Freeper . . . .
It’s from the video but that doesn’t help much.
And yet the Russians consistently side with the Palis and other terrorists. Shame on them!
You don’t even need to get near security. You can walk into any major airport in North America with numerous pieces of luggage and line up with hundreds of other people at the intitial check-in counter for your airline. No security check and usually no visible sign of any security officials. Just airline ticketing personnel and some porters. I’ve been in line at the Toronto airport when there would easily be 500 people lined up in an area 100 ft x 100 ft. It’s even worse lining up outside a major sporting event. Just think what a car bomb could do in front of the gates at the Meadowlands on game-day for the Giants.
I agree Vlad should unleash hell on the muslim zombies.
Nobody else is.
The last report I read said it happened outside the exit from the baggage claim, which was full of taxi drivers, porters and family members waiting for passengers to come out with their luggage. Anywhere you create a queue you’re going to have a vulnerable target and there’s no way to entirely prevent that scenario. In the early years of the second Iraq war, suicide bombers frequently attacked Iraqis who were lined up outside the Green Zone looking for work. If you did an initial screening outside the aiport doors, then the next attack will take place at that point. The terrorists will always seek convenient targets.
Putin said that Russia was islam's best friend in the world and that Russia will never be part of any "holy alliance" against islam.
Well stated!
I can see it coming: Big Sis will insist on body scans, gropings AND body cavity searches for everyone leaving home on the way to the airport for any reason.
Of course, if they would just adopt some Israeli screening techniques, they would be more effective.
