'Harry's Law' ratings put on trial; [lib Hate Speech continues]

'Harry's Law' ratings put on trial; 'Cape' slips
by James Hibberd
Categories: Television, TV Biz, TV Ratings

David E. Kelley’s latest legal drama Harry’s Law got off to a fine start Monday night in the ratings.

“I object!” you say. “Granted, the show drew a healthy 11 million viewers, but it earned a mere 2.1 adults 18-49 rating. How can you say that’s ‘a fine start’?”

Allow me to present some evidence: NBC’s previous show in this time slot, Chase, averaged only a 1.5 rating. Harry’s Law grew from its The Cape (6.2 million, 1.8; recap here) lead-in and ranked in second place at 10 p.m. Plus, it gave NBC its biggest non-Olympics audience in this slot in more than a year. Therefore, given the context (and ratings are all about context), ladies and gentlemen of the EW.com jury, I would say Harry’s Law had a fine start.

“But,” you counter, opening a briefcase and pulling out a ratings chart. “This shows that Harry’s Law was, in fact, NBC’s lowest-rated in-season premiere ever in this time period.”

Watched this pilot episode and found the same old Liberal 'Hate Speech' still the norm in network television...

I have to admit that David E. Kelley’s legal dramas have been somewhat entertaining in an oddball way but they have always had a strong liberal slant that made labeling all Conservative Republican as evil the most normal thing in the world.

You'd think in the heat of the moment after the Tuscon shootings found no evidence at all of Conservative involvement, the Liberal Hate Speech would tone down, eh?

Think again, Tonto—

It continues in “Harry's Law” as the lead lawyer character gets into a courtroom rant on legalizing drugs by saying it was originally a Republican idea before the party was hijacked by Rush Limbaugh, that well known drug addict.

So, we need to make this a teachable moment, campers. Like the Gipper’s ‘Evil Empire’ speech on the Soviet Union, the Liberal Democrats will go to any length, use any method and tell any lie to get their views made the one and only norm and to completely control all the decisions on the way we live our lives.

They already control just about all network and cable television dramas and comedies and the mainstream news media present only the liberal slant.

If we don't fight back with all our might, we will find our views and our way of life put out to pasture for good by federal law and federal legislation.

Sorry for my rant, but I just had to get this off my chest—

Carry on...

I was just thinking - I should have said more. I was a Democrat up until 1992. I dutifully read the local liberal rag every day. Here and there I started noticing these cutting remarks about someone named “Rush Limbaugh”. I had absolutely no idea who he was, but began wondering why “they” didn’t want me to hear what he had to say. Not too long after that thought, I spotted the paperback version of “The Way Things Ought to Be” at the supermarket. My husband and I had been feeling uneasy in the Dem Party for a long time and this book crystalised our thoughts on every page. We haven’t looked back since. We are both solid conservative Republicans.

Perhaps every time the Dems make a snarky reference to Rush, a new conservative is born:)

I saw the legalized drugs court room rant and made a note to never watch this show again.

I put on my hazmat suit and trolled over to mainstream media to watch Harry’s Law because I’ve always liked the roles Kathy Bates has played. When the jab at Rush was said, I went back to cable stations and then emailed NBC my disappointment of their uncivility. And, yes, I used the term “snarky comment” to them. I’ve learned my lesson. No NBC, CBS or ABC again!

Thanks for the information. I didn’t realize that NBC, CBS, and ABC were STILL in operation. Learn something new every day. The ONLY good programs they may have I can catch the next year on cable, and thus retain my sanity and avoid destroying my nice new flat screen.
The TV sets get better and better yearly while the TV gets worse and worse, monthly. Sad.

i watched and enjoyed the show... especially the part where harry had two near death experiences within minutes... the campiness of the show will turn me off and the obvious liberal diatribe, but i as a libertarian see her point, but not the conclusion of evil republicans.

i will probably not watch again as the reality aspect is stretched too much... same about the cape...

tv just all around stinks.

From the previews it looked like another show about a wise-cracking attorney. It didn’t grab my interest. From the reviews, so far, I am glad I didn’t bother to watch it.

It's a good thing the shoe store/law office has a cash flow source as the the legal clients are all pro bono.

The “legalized drugs” was easy to see coming as she was lying in her office smoking a doobie when the program opened.

“...originally a Republican idea before the party was hijacked by Rush Limbaugh, that well known drug addict.”

It was a good show up to that point. The lib writers just can’t help themselves. L and O’s Jerry Orbach’s character used to take jabs at Bush occasionally.

I watched 6 mins where two black Youts pleaded about how they really weren’t criminals—even had the Mama come in saying, literally” He’s a good boy, he has just fallin’ into the wrong crowd.”....WTF?

Stupid show, lousy writing, totally unrealistic piece of crap...another Kelly whiny Lib white guilt demo.

I DVR’d it thinking I’d maybe stick this in my record series queue. The minute she went off on “hijacked by Rush Limbaugh” I stopped watching and deleted it.

I’m happy to see I wasn’t the only one who won’t take this libel of conservatives lying down.

Watch your ratings dive into oblivion, Kelley. We won’t put up with your Hollywood liberal crap anymore.

Sorry for the cross-dresser remark. I was thinking of another new series called; Fairly Legal which is almost as bad, it had two black youts who got in a jam, too. ;)

There is a series starting (Feb 9) its second season called; Justified starring Timothy Olyphant on FX that I really like.
